About

Best Coast – comprised of Bethany Cosentino (vocals, guitar) and Bobb Bruno (guitar) – has released three critically and culturally acclaimed albums over the last decade while touring the globe, selling out headline shows, and opening for the likes of Green Day, Paramore, Pixies, Death Cab For Cutie, and more. Now they've returned with an incredible new song, entitled "For The First Time." Says Cosentino about the track, "It's about feeling comfortable in your own skin and looking at the skin you had to shed to get there and being OK with it all." It is the initial taste of the forthcoming Best Coast album, Always Tomorrow, which is due for release in 2020.

Seeing Best Coast in a small venue was amazing

by Nic on 8/9/22Rickshaw Stop - San Francisco

Watching Best Coast at the Rickshaw Stop, a small San Francisco venue was amazing. Beth engaged with the crowd, saying witty little commentary making the crowd laugh. The sound was great, vocals clear and strong. It was night and day versus a show I saw them perform at the Fox Theater years prior.

    Fun but not fantastic

by RJMC on 2/24/16Terminal 5 - New York

I walked in late, and actually thought Wavves was the opening act, as they didn't seem to really "own" the stage. Best Coast was not as pumped as the last time I saw them in NYC 3 years ago, at Barclay's as Green Day's opener. However, both bands sounded great, as they're all talented performers and artists, and I enjoyed the show overall. Maybe next tour shouldn't be one show/one city every night -- they're not 23 anymore, ha ha!

    Started rough, ended well

by kingofharpswell on 2/24/16Royale Boston - Boston

Waiting in line for the show to start and the line to get into Candibar couldn't understand/wouldn't heed the directions given by the bouncer. Things started to get tense as very few people in that line could understand English. The bouncer kept telling the line to move in a little bit because people on the sidewalk couldn't get through, but they wouldn't move. Surprisingly, the punk kids going to Summer is Forever II could follow directions and were courteous to the club staff. The wait for the opener to start wasn't too long, and Cherry Glazerr was an excellent show. Not too rowdy in the crowd, which is to be expected from an opening band. All their songs were well received by the crowd, and they said our audience was "way better than last night's audience." Wavves came on next after about a half hour wait. Sail to the Sun was the first song they played. Sounded just like the studio version, very clean and crisp sound, especially in the front row where I was. Crowdsurfing was very common during Wavves' set, even encouraged. Wavves was stretched for time, so they blew through the rest of their set and it was over. Best Coast came out after another half hour wait. Not as good as Wavves, with only a couple songs I really enjoyed. Their frontwoman was upset with the security staff because they were having a small side conversation while one of their songs was playing, which I thought was a bit of an overreaction. After a couple songs she apologized for calling out the staff, saying that she was sick and might have been "a bit of a bitch." I could understand her frustration. At one point I asked a bouncer how many songs were left and he said 11, which I thought was a monstrous set. It dragged on a little long, but otherwise it was a good set. Leaving the joint was easy enough, as there was plenty of parking just across the street. My feet hurt like hell but the show was rewarding enough for me not to care.
