About

New York indie-rock act Vampire Weekend's third album, Modern Vampires of the City, hit the streets in 2013 and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The feat was nothing new for the acclaimed young band, which also topped the chart with their preceding album, 2010's Contra.
Ezra Koenig (lead vocals), Chris Baio (bass), Chris Tomso (drums), and Rostam Batmanglij (producer and multi-instrumentalist) formed Vampire Weekend while attending New York's Columbia University, and their fusing of alt-rock sensibilities with African rhythms and hooks was garnering plenty of attention long before they'd released their self-titled debut album in 2008 -- in fact, their first appearance on the cover of Spin magazine came before their first album hit stores. The early acclaim and scrutiny didn't faze the band, which continued to impress fans and critics with each new release. Vampire Weekend remained a fixture on the tour circuit in 2013 as the foursome headlined concerts at large venues around the world and topped bills at major festivals. Fans who scored tickets in 2013 heard the band play favorites like "A-Punk," "Oxford Comma," and "Horchata," along with several songs from Modern Vampires of the City.

    Vampire Weekend continues to rule

by Ky on 4/11/24Moody Amphitheater - Austin

Vampire Weekend constantly exceeds my expectations with each live performance. Ezra is the definition of a frontman, while Chris dominates the drums, and Baio slaps that bass. Their refresh of their live band brings their songs to life in a way that everyone needs to experience.

    Vampire Weekend Eclipse Show

by Wolfandrose on 4/11/24Moody Amphitheater - Austin

First time to Moody Amphitheater and I have to say if you like to dance, the pit or lawn seats are the best! I mean who can sit to Vampire Weekend??? Staff is friendly, backdrop view of the capital is cool, and ample bathrooms. They do need to fix their bar line though. They should have mixed drinks on one side and beer on the other. This way the bar staff can just grab a beer and pop the top.

Saw them at State Theater in Minneapolis after Modern Vampires dropped. High energy and better than album quality sound.

    Awesome Show

by M. on 10/19/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Our views were behind the band, but because of the open set and their acknowledgement of those people behind them, made it even more awesome. You got to experience the show throught Vampire Weekend's view.

    Vampire Weekend on a Weeknight

by Steve on 10/11/19Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Great show! My wife and I arrived during an opening act, and sitting in one of the back sections, we were a little worried about the sound, which we've had issues with before at the very back of the Bowl. This act sounded a little muddy. But when Vampire Weekend took the stage, those fears quickly went away. Great sound quality, lots of music from the new album (loved hearing "Sympathy" live), and pretty much every older Vampire Weekend song I wanted to hear, including "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa," "Cousins," "Diane Young," "Oxford comma," "Hannah Hunt," "A-Punk," and many more. The night was lovely, the food at the Bowl was decent (although, HB, your systems for ordering could use some updates and revamping. Even with the electronic kiosks to place orders, distributing food is more crowded and confusing than it needs to be. A loudspeaker for one of the servers to announce the name for the order, rather than yelling it into the crowd from the counter, would be a simple improvement), and the show was really satisfying and fun.

    MUST SEE

by Brandon F on 10/9/19Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This band has not toured for years prior to this tour and they did not let down at all. It felt like hit after hit after hit. Truly an amazing performance. I have been to many concerts and festivals and I have a deep appreciation for this band. If you get a chance to see them, don’t hesitate!

    Worth the wait

by Whit-knee on 10/8/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

Vampire Weekend is well worth the wait, I love that they have a different setlist every night, they played for a good 2 1/2 hours. If you like them they are worth the wait. They were at Bill Graham Civic in SF which is my least favorite venue but Vampire Weekend was worth it.
