About

Steelheart in Concert

Blasting out of the rubble of 1980s glam and hard rock, this rock group originally formed as Red Alert in 1990, but quickly reorganized as Steelheart. Although the early days saw immediate lineup changes, vocalist Michael Matijevic, guitarist and bassist Frank DiCostanzo, bassist and pianist James Ward, and drummer John Fowler would become the band's core for its first couple of years.

As Steelheart, they released their self-titled debut in 1990, featuring single "I'll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)," which reached No. 23 on Billboard's U.S. Hot 100 and No. 24 on U.S. Mainstream Rock. The band's second album, ‘Tangled in Reins,' came out two years later and contained hit single "Mama Don't You Cry," which reached No. 1 in Hong Kong and Japan, spurring the band to tour Asia. ‘Tangled in Reins' also charted in the U.S., reaching No. 144 on the Billboard 200. Later that year, the band played a Halloween show in Denver where singer Matijevic was hit in the head by a lighting truss, giving him multiple injuries and sidelining the band temporarily.

Five years later, the band started again with a new lineup — Matijevic was the only original member. The new group released ‘Wait,' which some fans considered more of a Matijevic solo album. Either way, single "We All Die Young" was covered by fictional rock band Steel Dragon in the 2001 Mark Wahlberg film ‘Rock Star.' In the film, Matijevic sang lead vocals for Wahlberg's character. In 2008, Steelheart released ‘Good 2B Alive,' their first full album in more than a decade. For that album's tour, the band was re-joined by original member Chris Risola.

    Disappointment

by Captkirk on 1/22/24The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las Vegas

People standing at the stage and aisle making it hard to see. Concert was over in 1 hour. Way too short for the $$$ and trip. I’m blaming the venue but not sure who is responsible. Steelheart sounded good and good entertainment.

Steelheart was amazing 6 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    by Glenn on 2/7/23

We had front row seats for this concert (section AR, seats 3 & 4), I’m speechless…Mili sounded exactly like his videos, just sick…Mike was amazing on the drums as his solo set was sick as hell, Kevin was banging on the bass and Joe was rocking the guitar.. The entire band sounded Electrifying…Best concert I’ve ever seen hands down…. Favorite band of all time… Highly recommend seeing them… don’t forget to get front row seats 🤘🤘

Great show in July of 2021

    by DynamicDave on 1/10/23

I saw them at The Showroom in July of 2021. Mili sounded great. Natural high range singer. I took photos of the show (I was row B, 1st seat in the isle). I sent them (photos) to Steelheart through their official Steelheart website and Mili texted me back through his I-phone to thank me personally. Class act. It's great when players remember where they came from and reach out to us "little guys". Wish I could see them again, but my health has gone downhill and I, unfortunately, still have to work to survive. Such is life. At least Steelheart brought me some joy in whatever may be left in mine. Thank you, Steelheart. Thank you, Mili.

    Underrated!

by Goldminer on 8/26/22The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las Vegas

From the ease of purchasing, entry and the show...everything was fantastic! Steelheart themselves, are so underrated. Milenjko has one of the most versatile voices ever. To be able to have that range, while not "screaming"...amazing! Their past music is unbelievable...can't wait to see what's next.

Great voice, but they only played for an hour

by A. D. on 7/26/21The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las Vegas

When you spend $150 on two tickets you expect an evening of entertainment. No such luck... Steelheart came on at 8:10 PM and spent the first three songs trying to resolve audio issues. Mike told us how awesome their show in L.A. was the night before, how they arrived in Vegas at 4 AM and that they didn't get any sleep but were still ready to rock. Their last song ended an hour later at 9:15 PM and the lights went on without an encore. His voice was still awesome, we just wish there was more than just an hour of it...
