COM TRUISE IN CONCERT:

Chillwave producer Com Truise continues to transport audiences to the retro-future with his arpeggiated-synth landscapes and analog beats. Lush electro tracks like "Sundriped" and "Futureworld" evoke the soundtracks of the best '80s dystopian flicks, but Truise keeps his concerts firmly in the present with a live drummer and guitar player. Whether he's performing early favorites like "Cyanide Sisters" and "Brokendate"  or dropping remixes of Neon Indian and Twin Shadow, Truise's deft electronic manipulations and ear for the groove always keep audiences moving at his immersive live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New York-born Seth Haley, a.k.a. Com Truise, worked as an art director and moonlighted as a drum and bass DJ before resigning from his job to pursue music. He made his debut as Com Truise in 2010 with the Cyanide Sisters EP, a glittering slice of chillwave that established him as one of the budding genre's most promising new acts.  Critics raved about Galactic Melt, his 2011 debut album, resulting in extensive touring alongside acts like Mount Kimbie and SBTRKT. In 2013 he released a collection of early demos titled In Decay before once again hitting the road for a series of high-profile festival appearances. A skilled circuit bender with an arsenal of the most coveted vintage synths around, Com Truise continues to conjure up the sounds of both the '80s and the future on his electrifying tours.

who was that at the beggining?

    by enjoyer_of_good on 11/29/22Newspeak - Montreal

Com truise gave a nice performance, but he started only after us having to losten for a good 3-4hours of a random DJ that was frankly not so good.. would have been nice to know when Truise actually started so we would have knowen, but there were no information about anything of that on the website, when Truise arrived, was tired, confused and mostly sad to have wasted 3h on a random dj before him

    Com Truise is Great

by Ev on 11/20/19Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

Honestly, I went in with somewhat low expectations - "a dude who plays chill electronic music? Sounds like a dull time." I love his music, but just didn't seem like a fun show. However, it was! The bass KILLED (dunno if that was local or his tour, but still), his jams were markedly upbeat, and he didn't just hit play and ride the wave - he actually DJ'd! 'Twas definitely a good time, and I wish there were more people dancing w/ me. I don't regret it, and if you're reading review trying to see if you will, you won't. HOWEVER, the opening dudes were "meh" at best, so keep that in mind, but I think that's just how shows are. Anyways, great time.

Com Truise is Phenomenal Live---Must See!

by Darren on 11/11/19Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

Com Truise (real name Seth Haley) put on an amazing show. Absolutely surreal to finally hear and experience the songs I've listened to in my office for years coming straight from the source. And a hundred times louder. In a great venue with a stunning aesthetic of digital visuals and colored lights. First, the openers (Beshken and Altopalo) were from relevant, yet slightly different genres, so it was great to see two acts that weren't the same exact style as Seth and discover something new. Second, Seth's live performance was nothing short of exceptional. The man works furiously on stage to shape and tune every sound of every song---and the visuals!--and thus constantly hustling through his workstation like some alchemist of sound. Finally, my friend and I both bought a shirt from him at the end, shook his hand, and shared a few words. He hung out and met anyone that wanted to meet him. He was super humble and appreciative of our time and purchase and I could tell he was a genuinely nice guy that really meant it when he thanked us for coming. He shouted out that he'd see me again as I headed out the door, and I will do my part in making that happen! It was a night I'll never forget. Do NOT hesitate to see him live and go see him now!

    Polished professional

    by K. K. on 11/9/19Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

The musical imagination of CT was fun to see live. If Philip K. Dick were alive and was an audio artist, he would make music like this.

    Great Show

Seth puts on an amazing show. He was even walking around before the show talking with fans. I was lucky enough to get selfie with him and he signed my album.

    Excellent Show!

by emeightythreefan on 11/10/14Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Com Truise put on a great performance. The set was well-paced and the visual aspect was very cool. The opener, Rone, was also excellent. I will definitely go to see either of these guys the next time they come around.

I didn't buy the ticket till the day of the show. I like Com Truise, but I'm not the biggest fan. Great show, I was happily surprised. The crowd was pretty young, but still ended up dancing like a teenager.
