    Pretty Gr8 Time

by JimMel on 3/7/20House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

Intronaut and Cult of Luna are two of my favorite metal bands. Naturally i was excited to see the show. When intronaut played i was surprised to see they didn't have their bassist, which was disappointing because he's the best part of the band in my opinion. The second act Emma Roth Rundle wasn't really my style of music, but was entertaining as she's a great musician. Cult of Luna was amazing. They played for almost 2 hours. The lights and sound were very good and the crowd got more and more into them as they played. House of Blues Venue in general is as it has been for years. I bought a ticket and was given some complimentary tickets I'm guessing because this was a mid week show and wasn't close to selling out. The ticket was reasonably priced, and getting the complimentary tickets at the box office was no trouble at all. The cheapest beer at the bar is still $8, but since I've been to this venue so much in the past, that was expected.

One of the Best Heavy Bands in the World

    by S. M. on 3/5/20Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

Great openers, too! But when you have a chance to see Cult of Luna, you take that chance or you might regret it. They don't tour North America often. I think this was their fourth visit after officially starting the band in 1998. And I came down from Philadelphia since they skipped our city. Baltimore is close enough, though! If you aren't a huge fan of their music because you heard some studio stuff, I can say that the live experience brings them up many more notches and does the band more justice than anything they've ever recorded. And then after you see them, it makes their studio stuff WAY better because of how memorable they are live. Thanks for coming back to North America, CoL!
