SAY ANYTHING IN CONCERT:

Emo/pop punk band Say Anything have mastered the art of penning infectious, melodic pop songs without losing their edge, continually pushing their sound  forward by incorporating elements from genres as far-ranging as math rock and indie pop. The band expertly balances their high-octane material with frontman Max Bemis' softer side, treating fans at their live shows to the full gamut of sonic experience, from frenetic barn burners like "Alive With the Glory of Love" to introspective acoustic songs like "Belt." With their highly anticipated eighth album Hebrews due out in the summer of 2014, the band will hit the road on tour in support of the release.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Los Angeles in 2000, Say Anything self-released their first two EPs, Junior Varsity and In Your Dreams, as well as their debut full-length Baseball:  An Album by Sayanything. In 2004 they made their label debut with ...Is a Real Boy, released on Doghouse Records to a Top 10 spot on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. Despite lineup changes and several hiatuses brought on by health issues suffered by frontman Max Bemis, the band's next three albums were all Top 40 hits on the Billboard 200, making them a festival staple and constant presence on the Vans Warped Tour. In support of the 2014 release of eighth album Hebrews, the band once again hits the road for another round of high-octane shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

" Say Anything put on an incredibly upbeat and amazing show. If you get the chance to see these guys live... it's a must!"

" From the moment they took the stage to the moment Max left, the venue was filled with energy. It was probably one of the best concert experiences I have ever had."

" Say Anything was, of course, spectacular. It was super exciting to hear them play so many of their older songs that I never thought I'd get to hear live. Overall, great show!"

unfortunate song choices due to 3 nights booked

by Lifelong Say Anything fan on 10/22/23The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

My title refers to set lists and encores missing out on some iconic songs based on which night you went. Sucha rough area, I woulda preferred they have 5 separate scheduled nights at the troubadour or somewhere smaller but safer neighborhood instead. The singular exit to the theater also made getting in, moving around people to GA, and time to leave very stressful - I truly assume people would’ve died if a fire broke out, even a small one. Absolutely loved the light show along with the band wall projection behind them, great visuals overall. SA didn’t come out til 9 for a listed 7:30pm show, so that gives you an idea of how much the openers play for, which personally I find to be a little long for such unknown names. No one’s fault there, but I’m sure an hour & a half of a co-headliner worthy popular band would’ve been more tolerable. Max’s singing, energy, and the energy spread between him and the band members were just awesome. I love how he changes up melodic harmonies/cadences to make the songs we know and love so much feel truly live and original for us as paying concert goers. It’s dope. Interesting, fun show overall.

Got the tickets free from a friend but not a huge fan of the band. The live show was decent though!

Say Anything is amazing. I have loved them for years and they never disappoint! Even after being in the hospital with the flu, Max Bemis killed it!

The sound quality was very poor at the event, way too loud and not in the I'm so old and his music is too loud, but so loud to the point that you couldn't decipher what song was what, because you couldn't make out the beat or lyrics.

Terrible sound quality. If I didn't know all of the words I would have not had any idea what anyone was saying! They barley played any old songs :(
