    Miki Missed the Mark

by Maria J. on 7/15/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - Detroit

The concert was as to be expected in terms of Lonnie Liston Smith and Roy Ayers. Their music will stand the test of time. The rhythm and timing was off, but both artist are nearing 80. Miki on the other hand, terrible stage presence, vulgar language, off key, etc. Two of her greatest hits - Love Under New Management & Ain't Nobody Like You - she didn't even perform!! A lady from the audience, with great vocal range, upstaged Miki TWICE and sent her (Miki) walking off stage in defeat. If you're coming to Detroit and singing Aretha's Until You Come Back to Me at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre (formerly Chene Park), you better bring it!!! Not sure if Miki had been drinking or just enjoying the warm breezes from the Detroit River, but her set was a mess!

    Beautiful

by Detroitgem on 7/13/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - Detroit

Good night, wonderful concert! Everything was cool. The girls in the audience selling drinks were dismissive of some of the older people. They need more servers. Besides that, awesome

    Could have been better...

by smh48075 on 7/13/19The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - Detroit

It was a beautiful evening, but the acoustics were horrible. I’ve been to many events here, but the sound system was the worst I’ve heard.

    Legends of Jazz

by KeMatt on 7/23/17Chene Park - Detroit

I took a buddy with me and it was her first time at Chene Park and we both absolutely love the concert and Chene Park is a Detroit Gem. All the acts were great but my fave was to see Ronnie Laws and it was great how Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston and Ronnie Laws played together and the band was amazing. I really liked Tom Browne but wanted a little more having seen him at Bakers Jazz club a few years ago. The opening act was great as well. Love this concert!

    Absolutely a BLAST

by BevsBMW on 7/23/17Chene Park - Detroit

Even though they have some age on them, they killed the show! The opening act, Justin Young, was a little long though.
