Not quite country, not quite rock--My Morning Jacket's music is undeniably haunting and emotionally charged. At its center is the heartrending, highly affecting voice of singer/songwriter Jim James. Hailing from Louisville, KY, My Morning Jacket first made a name for themselves with the release of their debut album, The Tennessee Fire, in 1999. A follow-up, At Dawn, was released in 2001, which helped win the band a devoted following in both the U.S. and Europe with its charming blend of rock, country and blues. The wide-ranging It Still Moves appeared in 2003, taking the band into new melodic, pop-oriented territory on tracks such as "Golden" and "Mahgeetah." The band released their fourth album, Z, in 2005, a further refinement of the group's immense songwriting skills and unique brand of Americana music.

Decide to see them live!!! Yes! How a band can put a whole crowd into rythm is beyond me but somehow they do it every time. We had a blast at their show is DC. Such a fun positive atmosphere. The band sounded great and the drummer blew my mind!

My Morning Jacket is the greatest band in the world right now. The Chicago Theater was an incredible place to experience their 3 night run. Great location, clean, friendly staff, lines were not long. The place is beautiful. Highly recommend seeing a show here. You won’t be disappointed in the venue.
MMJ is currently killing it in every way. They put on one hell of a show. They are playing fantastically, the light show has gone to the next level, and the message that the band is putting out there is what this world needs to heal! Listen to this band! Go see this band!
Chicago Theatre is one of the great venue in a great city. My Morning Jacket always performs at a high level. However being able to see them at either The Chicago Theater or The Auditorium is truly a treat.
Show #12...just as amazing as the last. They've got the best stage lighting and the Chicago Theater is such an incredible venue - 2nd show here.
MMJ never disappoints and the 11/11 show was no exception. Black Metal and Touch Me II were best live versions I’ve ever seen!
It has always been my experience that depending on where you were sitting in the Chicago theater, the sound can be very muffled. I don’t know if this was a mixing problem or an acoustics problem, but Jim James’s voice was barely audible where we were sitting (section 2R, row C, unless he was singing a song with almost no instrumental accompaniment. We go to see MMJ because of Jim James. I was very disappointed with the sound quality. Other than that the show is great.
My Morning Jacket is probably the best band playing live shows period and these sets of shows were amazing! I can't wait until the next I can see them play. The Chicago Theater is such a great venue!
I would buy tickets to this show every year and hope that I have that chance. The sound, the energy, and the atmosphere is completely unmatched. A definitive live music experience. I am so grateful.
