6LACK in Concert

A live 6LACK (pronounced "black") performance is an exercise in precision. On stage, the heightened sensations from the already emotionally packed music by the East Atlanta alt-R&B singer take on new life. It's like the dimly lit studios that 6LACK's syrupy music was shaped in, but this time with cosmic visuals to boot. On tracks like megahit "Prblms," the workhorse artist creates a shared experience with the audience and extracts more musicality than one might anticipate. At any point, 6LACK may be joined by live drums, synth drums, dueling synths, a guitar player, and a DJ to create the vibes from his Grammy-nominated debut album ‘FREE 6LACK,' his much-hyped sophomore release ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' and prominent singles featuring artists like Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, and Banks. The sultry atmospheres 6lack created early on got him tabbed to tour with The Weeknd in 2017, and now with his solo road tour, From East Atlanta With Love, 6LACK is out to prove himself as a bona fide singular force.

6LACK Background

Born in Maryland, but raised in East Atlanta, 6LACK (né Ricardo Valentine) is forever tied to where he came from. His name, in fact, is a reference to both the sixth month of the year (he was born in June) and East Atlanta's Zone 6, where he grew up. A numerologist of sorts, 6LACK even named his daughter Syx. He came up in the battle rap scene, going toe-to-toe with Young Thug at one point, before signing to Flo Rida's IMG/Strong Arm Records in 2011. But despite a considerable following, he only fully emerged beyond the SoundCloud rap ranks when he signed with Interscope in 2016 and released the breakthrough ‘FREE 6LACK' in 2017, which peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200. He's been on the up ever since, with his follow-up album, ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' peaking at #3 on the U.S. Billboard chart, #2 on the U.S. R&B chart, and getting nine tracks onto the R&B Chart in 2018 alone.

I had an amazing time. It was my first time there and I'm glad I went. The staff was nice and the drinks were good. There was a bad seat in the room. I really enjoyed myself.

He was an amazing performer. He performed his new album and treated us to a few from former albums. This was a great venue for acoustics.

    fenomenal

    by @isabellacostabatista on 1/26/24

Went to the show in Orlando, I went alone, because then I can submerse myself and focus on enjoying the full experience. The other fans were very gentle and respectful, no pushing or shoving. Ricardo popped in before all the opening artists, he said hi and how excited he was, he just wanted to show us he was there and excited to sing for us. I was able to get a good spot, use the restroom and still comeback to the same spot. Honestly everything was really nice, the show ended and I just wished to never leave, his voice is just one of a kind, soothing, amazing. during the show there was a fan that got a little sick and he stopped the music, made sure people were giving he/her space and water and he only started again once he/she was good. I love how good he is with making eye contact with fans and really showing them appreciation for them by pointing and making sure ( they know that there having that special moment together ). Cant wait to go to the next one.

    10/10 Experience

by April on 11/30/23Kaseya Center - Miami

This was my first time seeing 6LACK in concert and honestly it was one of my best concerts that I’ve attended this year! His opening acts Quin and Jordan Ward were amazing choices not to mention they are talented singers and performers in their own right. When 6LACK performed it was magical, fun, freeing and a good vibe all the way around. He performed all of his old and new classics which made the crowd go nuts. I didn’t want the concert to end that’s how good it was. I’ll definitely see him again in concert for sure. Do yourself a favor and see him in concert whenever you get the chance.
