BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ex Hex was formed in Washington, D.C. in early 2014 by singer/guitarist Mary Timony, bassist Betsy Wright, and drummer Laura Harris. All three members hailed from notable D.C.-area projects -- Timony fronted Wild Flag and Helium, Wright played with The Fire Tapes, and Harris beat the skins for The Aquarium. The band -- and they arrived on the scene as Ex Hex with a fully-formed sound worthy of their veteran status. They made their debut in February 2014 with the track "Hot and Cold", a power chord-heavy slice of back-to-basics garage punk that proved their chops and had the feel of an instant classic. Since then they've unveiled several singles from their appropriately-titled debut album Rips, which they've supported with adrenaline-filled shows throughout the US. Ex Hex may be a young project, but the energy and immediacy of their sound is timeless -- ticket buyers looking to get rocked won't want to miss them on tour.
