The Glorious Sons on Tour

Whoever said rock was dead clearly hasn't been to a Glorious Sons show. Over the course of the past decade, the Kingston, Ontario, group has gone from playing Canada's dingiest dive bars to headlining its most hallowed arenas — and when you see the band in action, it's easy to understand why. The band's modernized riff on classic rock has found an intensely loyal, ever-expanding following among people whose idea of a balanced lifestyle is wrapping one hand around a cold beer and raising the other in a permanent fist-pump. On the heels of their 2019 single "Panic Attack," the Sons hit the road with a busy summer itinerary, including a date with The Rolling Stones and appearances at some of Canada's biggest festivals (Ottawa Bluesfest, Osheaga), then hit the stateside club circuit with British rock brats The Struts.

The Glorious Sons in Concert

When you're a no-frills rock band hailing from the Canadian college town of Kingston, Ontario, you must contend with the long shadow cast by your home city's most famous exports, The Tragically Hip. But since 2011, The Glorious Sons have been building a legacy all their own. Since the release of their southern-fried 2013 single "Mama" — the song that introduced the nation to the soulful powerhouse pipes of frontman Brett Emmons — the Sons have taken up residency in the upper reaches of the Canadian rock radio charts and never left. On the back of gritty rockers like "Heavy" and "The Contender," their 2014 debut album The Union earned a Juno nomination for Best Rock Album, an award they would eventually claim with 2017's Young Beauties and Fools. Outfitting the band's old-school bluesy foundation with a more pronounced pop polish, the album's standout working-class anthem "S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)" showcased the Sons' singular flair for making your darkest days sound like the time of your life.

    Great band horrible view

by Captain on 2/21/24Meridian Centre - St Catharines

Band sounded amazing . Light show was fantastic. Difficulty seeing the band due to inconsiderate people standing with no regard for anyone sitting.

Spectacular performance and a magical night!

by Zingerman on 2/20/24Meridian Centre - St Catharines

Brett's voice was in top form and the entire band seemed to be having as much fun as the fans! The young man being pulled onstage was definitely a highlight and the tone of the evening allowed all of us Amigos to celebrate a friend who unfortunately passed suddenly before the show - turned a somber evening into a celebration of life - truly inspired and inspiring! The Glorious Sons just get better and better - so grateful to all of them!

    Glorious Sons were Amazing

by Chris on 2/20/24Meridian Centre - St Catharines

High energy, great music. The band was happy to be in concert and engaged with the audience. Fun to watch. The music was exceptional. tThey have a large repertoire of songs and they are all fantastic songs. No filler inbetween. Make sure you see them live now before they get so big that you will be stuck watching them in a huge stadium. Because with their music they will soon be playing very large venues. So glad I got to see them now.

    Great show, three awesome bands!

by Pie on 1/4/24Leon's Centre - Kingston

The Glorious Sons put on their usual personal yet professional show. They never disappoint as this is my seventh time seeing them. The real bonus for this show was the great bands that TGS selected to precede them. Levi Boston really did well opening the night. Tiny Horse cranked it up a notch with some high energy and unique songs. Both bands set the tone for a great night. TGS really delivered. Great diversity in their set list. Their delivery is polished yet creative. Tough to do night after night. The true indicator, I can't wait to see TGS again!
