Andy Summers played an amazing show. Even though he was playing solo (no band), his expert use of echo and loops, along with some backtracks, sounded so full and lush. He had very complex jazz arrangements of a wide variety of styles, from jazz and Spanish covers and solo career songs, to very intriguing instrumental versions of some Police songs. Andy was so personal with the audience via amusing stories of his life and the road, but especially the fascinating projection of his life long photographic material on the big screen, were perfectly complimentary to the music. Andy Summers truly demonstrated his virtuosity and warm humor with this fabulously entertaining show. Well done, Andy!
PLAYED HIS GUITAR TO PRE RECORDED MUSIC. IT WAS LIKE SHOW AND TELL NOT A ROCK SHOW. IT WAS A BIOGRAPHY.
I was not a fan of the venue. There was a lot of noise from the common areas that were screened by ineffective curtains. There were several obnoxious people in the audience that should have been removed by the staff.
Nearly 2 solid hours of Andy's signature sounding guitar playing mingled with whimsical stories and a continuous backdrop on screen of hundreds of his personal photographs taken over the years during his travels. We got a few The Police tracks and he seemed genuinely HAPPY to be performing for us. Nice selection of merch, too!
Great Performance, Told a lot of funny stories from the road.
We thoroughly enjoyed Andy Summers presentation of his photography and music. He weaved everything together with interesting stories and experiences his that gave meaning to the works presented. The imagery presented was enticing and haunting, and I was mesmerized by his rendition of Round Midnight by Thelonius Monk. His presentation of an encounter in a Karaoke bar was hilarity , awkwardness and joy combined by excellent cinematography . Thanks Andy!
Loved the venue. Very cozy and intimate setting. Wonderful show. Could have sat there for a few more hours.
It was great to see Andy in such an intimate venue. I’ve seen him in a stadium with 50,000 other people. Great stories and an excellent guitar player.
I am still talking about this concert. The entire show was fantastic. I have wanted to see him and it’s awesome he played in my hometown. Andy Summers concert was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. He is a fabulous artist and author as well as a killer guitarist and songwriter. Fabulous how he intertwined his art into the show. If anyone gets the chance to see him, you will be glad you did.
