Multi-platinum Gospel singer Kirk Franklin ended 2013 by appearing at Nelson Mandela's memorial service in Johannesburg, singing his hit "My Life is in Your Hands." It capped a relatively quiet year compared to the year prior, which saw Franklin on tour in support of his Grammy-winning 2011 release, Hello Fear, his fifth solo album. Fans who bought tickets to those concerts saw Franklin perform on a package tour dubbed The King's Men Tour with Donny McClurkin, Marvin Sapp and Israel Houghton.
Over the course of his two-decade music career, Texas native Franklin has been broadening the reach and scope of Gospel music. He's brought a more contemporary spin to the genre, and has found success by infusing his music with elements of modern soul, R&B and hip-hop. Franklin's musical talent was evident from a very young age; he was offered his first record deal at age 7, but the aunt who raised him turned it down. He continued to sing in his church choir, and signed his first recording contract when he was in his early 20s, after organizing the 17-member choir Kirk Franklin and the Family in 1992. The band's first album topped the U.S. Gospel charts for 42 weeks. Franklin went solo in 2001, first scoring and producing the film soundtrack Kingdom Come. His solo debut album, 2002's The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, was an immediate crossover hit, topping Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart while also hitting No. 1 on the Gospel chart.

One of the best concerts I’ve been to and I go to a lot. This was better then Beyoncé 🤷🏾♀️
This concert was amazing!! It reminded me of the Midnight Musicals we use to have at church when I was little. It was an exciting night of worshipping Jesus! Every single artist was great! I'm so glad I was able to experience this Reunion Tour with the best artist out of Fort Worth, TX.
Great show Great show Great show Great show Great show Great show
I had a fantastic time from start to finish. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane and getting to see some of my favorite artists live.
The concert lasted almost three hours overall, yet I still felt like it could have been longer. For the duration of the evening, the congregation was totally focused, raising and welcoming God's presence with their arms. I was left wanting to see and hear more from these amazing gospel musicians after having such a moving and inspirational experience. Although we were supposed to be in Section 4, we ended up spending about an hour in Section 114. We were informed that we were seated in the incorrect seats when the buyers of the Section 114 seats arrived. We were in Section 4. In the exact spot where Kirk Franklin could pass by. I was standing at the time watching and enjoying the show when I felt a tap on my right hand and then again on my left. I asked my friend, "was that Kirk Franklin". She said yes. It was too good to be true. I couldn't believe it was him. And then he went past us once more. He agreed to an embrace when my friend wanted to give him one. Well, I couldn't just stand there and refuse an embrace. He gave one to me too. This was just the icing on the cake. Kirk Franklin is my favorite gospel artist and has been for years. I absolutely love him. My only regret is that on Saturday (the next day) while out running errands, I had his new CD playing in the car. I could not stop crying. I felt like I failed him in some way. I wish I would have said something to him. I don't know what I would have said, just something encouraging. I will always regret that opportunity. But the Show was FANTASTIC! I'm talking seeing Michael Jackson live fantastic. I’m already getting ready for Exodus! I LOVE YOU KIRK. STAY STRONG.
Wow, this was an AMAZING nite of worship, excellence, and great Experience. Every artist, background singers, music, stage, quality of everything was Super! Kirk Franklin is truly a creative genious and the annoited singers he selected was awesome. I was so excited see God's Property but I as bummed "The Family"was not included. Next time :)
