About

BILLY RAY CYRUS VISITS AUSTRALIA FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO DECADES.

Throughout the course of nearly three decades, Billy Ray Cyrus has achieved international success as a singer, songwriter, entertainer, and philanthropist.

Having released 12 studio albums and 44 singles since 1992, he is best known for his number one single “Achy Breaky Heart”, which became the first single ever to achieve triple Platinum status in Australia. It was also the best-selling single in the same country in 1992 and was translated into more than 100 languages. Thanks to the video of this hit, the line dance catapulted into the mainstream, becoming a worldwide craze.

He has sold over 20 million albums, charted 35 singles, 16 of which are Top 40 hits and has scored a total of eight top-ten singles on the Billboard Country Songs chart. His most successful album to date is his debut Some Gave All, which has been certified 9× Multi-Platinum in the United States and is the longest time spent by a debut artist at number one on the Billboard 200 (17 consecutive weeks) and most consecutive chart-topping weeks in the SoundScan era.

It is the only album (from any genre) in the SoundScan era to log 17 consecutive weeks at number one and is also the top-ranking debut album by a male country artist. It ranked 43 weeks in the top 10, a total topped by only one country album in history, Ropin’ the Wind by Garth Brooks.

Some Gave All was also the first debut album to enter at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart. The album has also sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling debut album of all time for a solo male artist. Some Gave All was also the best-selling album of 1992 in the US with 4,832,000 copies.

Currently, Cyrus has numerous new projects in the works including the new television series on CMT, “Still The King,” in which he shares writing and executive-production credits.

Billy Ray Cyrus is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his world wide smash “Achy Breaky Heart”. To celebrate he is hitting the road and heading Down Under for the first time in two decades this coming March.

Cyrus plays an intimate show at the legendary The Palms at Crown in Melbourne on Thursday 22 March, joined by Australian country star Travis Collins.

Around the world, it is without a doubt that Billy Ray Cyrus is a household name and will continue to be recognised through generations.

These shows are not to be missed.

    Awesome show!

    by Danny Ascension on 2/10/20

We saw Billy Ray at the Texas State Fair in Dallas and he was absolutely amazing. Just what I expected and more! His personality alone is beautiful because he is so down to earth, kind and funny. His voice and music is still amazing, he performed some new songs and some good classics that we grew up on and love like "Words by Heart", "Stand Still" and of course the mega-hit "Achy Breaky Heart". He was super fun to watch and we are ready to see him again soon! Mr. Cyrus, please return to Northern Texas!!!

    Pretty good

by Jimbeaux on 1/22/20Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

Even though he does not have a ton of hits, he put on a very good concert including of course his megahit Achy Breaky Heart. The house sound was very good considering the venue was held in a rodeo arena. There was no over emphasis on the bass drum like at a lot of concerts. Band was talented and tight.

The concert was great! I loved every song he sang. My only complaint is it was too short. I didn't want it to be over.

This is the second time I’ve seen Billy in the last four years. What a positive difference this time around. He was fun, personable and happy. He truly enjoyed performing for his fans. Lots of interaction and eye contact. I stood right up by the stage and he made me feel like he was performing for ME!!!
