What a show….the band is as good as ever. Played SO many good songs. It felt like my college days all over again!
Very intimate venue. Sound was great. Bar easily accessible. Awesome staff!
The concert itself was amazing! It was great to see them sing live and to be close enough that you can see they still enjoy playing! The only issue we had was the line to get drinks. I think if the venue had a more guided system to allow people to stay in line instead of jumping in at the bar wherever it would be so much smoother. Maybe put tape on the floor or signs on the walls to show/explain that there are two lines and how to follow them? Other than that the seats were comfortable and lined up so everyone had a view; sound was great!
So excited to see 10,000 Maniacs and if I wasn’t so excited to see them I would have left before we entered the building. There was no requirement for vaccine cards, no requirement for masks and the show was easily sold to 100% pre pandemic capacity. While I’m glad to be out and seeing live music again I will not be going to Tally Ho in Leesburg. We have been to Jammin Java,, Vienna Wolftrap, Vienna; Capital One Hall, Tysons to see shows. All of the other venues checked vaccine cards against IDs and managed crowds. It was very unsettling being surrounded by people who were not only maskless but almost mocking those of us who were with their loud enough to hear conversations about “inoculations” and “freedom” before the show started. The saving grace was an amazing show and a mask.
The band started out great and kept us engaged every minute. It was wonderful and I can't stop listening to them.
Phenomenal. The newer stuff mixed in with the old classics showcases the timelessness and expanse of their abilities. 10,000 Maniacs are so generous with their audience: interactive and genuinely seem delighted to be sharing the atmosphere that is so unique to them. Also, I am going to say it: yes Natalie Merchant is an excellent front woman, BUT…all hail Mary Ramsey! Not only is she a seasoned vet with 10,000 Maniacs and in her own right (which is something that really shouldn’t warrant mention), but Mary delivers an experience more homogeneous and interconnected. If I had to pick? I’d pick Mary all day long.
The band was an 80s band with mostly older crowd. For this event, they didn’t have any seating except for VIP (I understand they do for others) It was hard to stand for 2.5-3 hours. It was also very warm. We liked the intimacy and the location, downtown Leesburg. The drinks we served quickly. I’d only go back if I knew seats were available. I did like that once you’re in, you had your hand stamped and could come and go as you wish. That’s why I gave it 4 stars
The 10,000 Maniacs are as great as ever! The Tally Ho is a nice venue and I am so glad that I spent the money for VIP seats.
Great performance & great venue!! Band was amazing & the staff was great!!
