About

JOE SATRIANI IN CONCERT:

Joe Satriani’s virtuoso guitar playing is more than just flawless technique and blistering speed -- he also forms an emotional connection with fans that is beyond words. His genuine love of riff-based rock ensures that audiences are in for a sonic thrill ride at his live shows, where his nimble fingers and finely tuned ear bring his ballads to life. While “Satch” (as friends and fans refer to him) turns melodies inside out and shreds up a storm, his cast of astounding supporting musicians keeps the grooves solidly rocking throughout six-string stunners like “Surfing with the Alien”, “Satch Boogie”, and “Flying in a Blue Dream”.  Ticket buyers are in for a transcendent instrumental experience that can't be beat, featuring a brilliant musician in impeccable form.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The highest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time, Joe Satriani was born in Westbury, NY in 1956. Before he gained fame, Satch made a living teaching some of the most influential guitarists of the ‘80s, including Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Steve Vai (David Lee Roth), and Larry LaLonde (Primus). His solo career took off with the hits “Always with Me, Always with You” and “Satch Boogie” off his 1987 album Surfing with the Alien. He kept his hot streak alive with his next two albums Flying in a Blue Dream (1988) and The Extremist (1992), which both went gold. In 1996 Satriani started the G3 Tour with friends Steve Vai and Eric Johnson to bring instrumental guitar music to the masses. In 2008 Satch joined forces with former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar (vocals), Michael Anthony (bass), and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith to create the supergroup Chickenfoot. While those projects keep him crazy busy, Satriani still continues to tour -- bringing venues like Warner Theatre to capacity -- and record as a solo artist, releasing Unstoppable Momentum in 2013.

The ultimate rock out concert. Joe & Steve are guitar gods.

by Slick Rick on 4/17/24Kodak Center - Rochester

Went to see the Satch/Vai tour in Rochester NY. Wow, these guys can rock for sure. Steve can definitely play some complex heavy music with a flair. When he came out on stage with his custom monster guitar, it was so cool. Amazing to see and hear him play it with intensity. A true heavy fusion rocker for sure. I love Joe's music, and when he came out, I was in my glory. Wow, he is the ultimate guitarist. The best. The sound was great in the theater and mixed perfect. Whoever that sound guy is deserves a major raise. Crisp and clear. Satch played a great set and looked like he was having a blast. When Steve came out to play with him, you could see they enjoy being together. Watching two of the best guitarists in the world dueling it out was just awesome. They played their new hit and jammed to some classic rock songs from Van Halen to Metallica. Killer lighting and cool back screen graphics thru out the show. Overall great night and worth the money. Long live rock!!!

    Awesome awkwardness

by Javier on 4/15/24Beacon Theatre - New York

I was hoping to meet my long life guitar hero for the first time in 25 years (Joe)... I had met my other guitar hero back in 2017 and it was awesome! So my expectations were high and they were met since the meet and greet... but the first awkward moment had come since the whole experience was cut due to time management... but it was ok... the real trouble began when the concert was about to begin... the seats were a little bit narrow and my fellow guitar nerds were a bit bigger than the seats so it was awkward like flying in economy seat... really really not the best seats (talking about comfort). The show was as I expected... my guitar hero wailed their instruments as I wanted to and saw them together for the first time!!! It was a dream come true. The sound was amazing!!! 5 stars in a great acoustic theater and the again as expected I was drooling for familiar guitar riffs and well known solos. It helped me forget about the guys next to me, since they were also enjoying the show as I was!!! If you haven't seem them please go and see them... you won't regret it !!! If I could go again I would definitely, whiteout thinking it twice !
