About

On their riveting and keenly-anticipated fourth album, Leaving Wonderland... in a fit of rage, Marcy Playground returned to action in triumphant fashion. Armed with songs born of an intense and turbulent period in his life, MP's main man, singer/guitarist John Wozniak, has fashioned a record that digs deep, taking the listener on an exhilarating and satisfying emotional and musical rollercoaster ride. Its creator is justifiably proud of his accomplishment, calling it "by far the best thing I've ever done. This is the most personal record I've ever made, and I think it's the thing that will connect most with other people.

John ran all over to get my record sleeve signed

    by wyatt benda on 8/7/23

Always a blast watching them. It was great to watch them headline the Youngstown music fest as they did an hour and a half show. I was also able to get my record sleeve signed by all 3 members . I really hope they come back around. Really nice guys. I pray to the rock gods that they release some more studio material and maybe a live album like John discussed in an interview.

    Incredible

by LeviMonstaPaws on 6/5/22Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

One of the best concerts I’ve seen in a long time. They did a lot of deep cuts and they felt genuinely happy to be playing on stage. It was a magical night that I won’t forget.

    A wonderful tiny show!

by MrMttGmr on 3/24/22Sony Hall - New York

A wonderful energetic yet intimate journey back and forth at a great venue. Great contact and seamless performance with a chat & photo with the musicians afterwards. 10/10!

    Amazing Show

by JamieA on 11/16/21The Canyon Montclair - Montclair

We arrived at the venue very early and got the seats/table we wanted. We were right at the front of the stage. There were less than 150 people, there was no crowding or rowdy people. The opening band was was great and were a last minute sign on due to the scheduled opener cancelling. Marcy Playground was everything we had hoped for and more, the entire evening exceeded my expectations.

Great set list. Always blown away by their musicianship at the live shows. It's a shame more people dont know these great songs.

    Marcy Playground rocked

by daboner on 3/12/11The Ark - Ann Arbor

I love MP! I think that they are an amazing live group. They are very entertaining. They are lively and mix it up. They played a lot of their old stuff. Played almost all of the 3 discs that I own. Had the crowd worked up and feeling it. And, The Ark is always a great place to see a band play because it's so small a venue that you are literally right on top of the band. After the show the band hung out with the crowd just talking and chatting. They then hung out across the street in one of the local Ann Arbor bars. It was cool meeting the members of the band as opposed to a large show where the crowd is so separated from the "stars." Only wish the band would have played longer, but I guess they put in a great performance especially considering the tickets were so affordable. Rock on MP. I hope to see you next time you come around.

    Great venue, but too loud

by Freddie2delta on 3/12/11The Ark - Ann Arbor

This group puts on a good show. Fine musicians who do a great job. Unfortunately, it was much too loud in the venue to the point that there was distortion. It would have been nice to have been able to hear the words.

    Amazingly True to Form

by Ltnuke on 3/12/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

I've spent years waiting for these guys to come to my neck of the woods.... And they blew me away! They are obviously extremely talented musicians who have no trouble replicating their studio sound. I can't wait until they come back to my neck of the woods -- a true 90s grunge band that still puts out high quality music -- one of the most underrated bands of the 90s.
