They say fashion is cyclical... and theyâre right. Truly amazing things never go out of style, regardless of when they first popped up. Totoâs tune âAfricaâ is one of these things. First heard in 1982, this masterpiece of popular prog has been a staple of pop culture since release. Taken from their massive second album Toto IV, it combined their other calling card Rosanna to introduce Toto to a massive audience. That record would go on to win several Grammy Awards and establish a base from which the band grew into one of the most prolific and durable acts in modern music history. Musically mind blowing and with more hits that you can poke a stick at, thereâs no doubt that people will ask âwhere were you when Toto played Festival Hall?â for years to come.
It was a fun concert with Toto not disappointing. Mershon auditorium has wonderful accustics.
As every time I see TOTO, they are excellent, but they bass was way too overpowering. It dround out the keyboards, and the sax. When I saw them @ The Midland in 2023, everything was perfect. I'm not sure if it was the venue or what? Regardless, the show was super and I still enjoyed it immensely.! I will go see them any time they come to town!
Didn't realize they were starting right on on time. Very strange...been to a lot of concerts and have never seen one start so close to on time. I have no problem with the concept but just communicate it. We missed the first 4 songs and they only played about 13. Was disappointing. Maybe I should stick to shows AEG promotes?
Good organization, good place for concerts, a safe place, good behavior of the attendees, excellent sound, as always magnificent musicians, and of course beautiful memories of my youth. Excellent show đ
I'm happy to report that we enjoyed our first concert of 2024 Sunday night at Ohio State's Mershon Auditorium with the very talented and entertaining band TOTO! Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams and their 5 band mates lived it up for a 2-hour set featuring the classic TOTO tunes we have loved for over 40 years ... Hold the Line, 99, I'll Be Over You, Rosanna, Africa, and more. The guys showed a lot of personality and it looked like they were having as much fun as we were. Good show!!
Their voices are still pure, sound just like they did when I grew up listening to them!
Fabulous, took me back to my 20's. Enjoyed very much
Toto has done a great job bringing in some new younger guys and have kept the Toto sound. Very good performances. My only dog is the amount of filler content. A drum solo, keyboard solo and another im blanking on. Several favorites were left out. I'd go again so 4 stars it is. Mershon Auditorium was a great venue. 5 stars there.
Had great time. really liked the smaller. more intimate venue.
The Mershon Auditorium is a great venue with parking co-located to the venue. The staff are very helpful and considerate. Toto was an excellent concert. They played straight through without a break. Hitting all the notes as in times past. The instrumentals were amazing with the great acoustics of the venue. Recommended
