Boston Bruins History

Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL. They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.

After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.

On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.

Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.

After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

    Awesome seats!

    by P. P. on 11/13/22TD Garden - Boston

Great seats, excellent view , but chairs were too tight! TD Garden replaced wider seats for narrower seats! Example: 33 wide seats were replaced with 36 narrower seats! They added 3 more narrower seats per row! The seats were more of a tighter squeeze! Other than that, the seats were great!

by DT on 10/13/22TD Garden - Boston

First time at the TD Garden so wandered around. Great sight lines. Great concourse. Plenty of concession options. Facility staff was competent and friendly. I had an A+ experience. Brought two daughters and they both couldn’t stop talking about how great the arena was. We highly recommend.

    Why I’m Sad

    by coyle13 on 10/11/22TD Garden - Boston

Honestly, I went to the bruins game in hopes of seeing one individual play. Charlie Coyle, number 13. When I was watching warmups, I noticed he wasn’t there. I was saddened by this. I was really hoping I would be able to see that fine man wack around a little black puck.

    TD Garden

    by K. D. on 5/4/22

TD Garden is a great place to watch a hockey game. Very easy to get to via public transportation, which is the best bet. Must get a very large slice of pizza while at the game. Many restaurants also around the TD Garden area.

NH Family travelled to MA 4 Bruins game

by Kimberly Paquette on 5/1/22TD Garden - Boston

From the eaay n smooth online Ordering to tge travlw from NH to MA was a breeze. ( no we didnt hit the busy highway traffic.) Hampton Inn & Logan Airport was simply amazing n friendly, professional n very helpful. Getting to TD garden was another breeze. Wow!! Waa the wall to wall fans clustered around the North gate entrance. Probally seems typical to " Big City folks". Im more a little " blink & your through it" town girl. The durections were spot on. This was the first event where my phone waa the parking ticket n admission tickets. ( very cool how technology has advanced) i waa prepared with masks folliwing covid 19 guidelines. Was very surprised to see only a dozen or so staff wearing masks in the open with the large populationof fans scattered trying to find seats. I asked the polite gentleman in the suit to help me locate our seats. He pointed me to the cirrect area. I have very bad anxiety in crowded areas. I was sweating n my heart was racing fast. I waa havibg difficulties breathing. I wanted ti fubd my seat so i could collect myself. Got to the location and double checked with the usher. My seats were LOGE 1 ROW 17 SEATS 5,6,7. I showed the usher my phobe to verify my seats. " no your in the wrong side. " as he pointed across the ice. I collected my son n boyfriend stumblung to walk as my anxiety increased. I walked the entire top level. Met up with the sweet gebtkeman how pointed me in the direction originally. " i was polite as i asked again uf i waa in the right place. He ensured me that i was. I go back to find my seat. Sweat was dripping off my face. i was panting n dizzy. Wait to soeak with the usher. I asked if he could please assist me. I might be lost. " what is your problem? If you cant handle a light walk maybe you should exercise before coming to this arena". Again he told me i was in the wrong spot. I waa outsuse LOGE 1 & SECTION 17 Was two rows up in my left. I have never experienced any sraff so far past Rude. I waa in fact in the RIGHT place. My anxiety was so bad that i waa hyperventalating. Two other ushers came right over to help, my 16 yr old son went for help. I wish i rememberd their names. They were anazing. ( i was in such disarray. I barely knew my name) i finally calmed mt anxiety as the first period began. after the first intermission a polite n happy n bubbly lady from guest services entered my row. " are you Kimberly?" " Yes. Is there a problem?" She smiled wide. Handed me a bag of merchandise and wished me a happy birthday. I smile bacj rhanking her. The fans around me sang happy birthday for myself & other birthday guests. Naturally being in Boston home of the Bruins for my 43rd birthday wuth my son & boyfriend was ANAZING!!! The 5-0 Bruins win with Bergeron getting a hqt trick leading to his 400th career goal with Bruins. PHENOMINAL. High n intense energy from the Players n staff n fans. It was my son & boyfriends first live game. They never left theur sears. Had to watch every moment of hockey. They evwn saw themselves cheerung in the jumbo screen, twice.😁 Overall the trip to Boston & the garden was amazing. Sadly that one bad apple left a rotten taste in my mouth. For the record, i do exercise. Im healthy & beat cancer. I powerwalk at 7.2 miles per hour. Being judged on what some ones misguided & close minded opinion of what i was physcially going through, was not appreciated. The hurt stung. I will try to put that moment behind me.. This Bruins fan will always be devoted to the Black n gold until im dead n cold. 😊💐😎😁

    Great Tuesday date night!

by Dontpokethebear on 4/29/22TD Garden - Boston

Had an amazing time as my wife and I are trying to get back to Tuesday date nights. Traffic and getting into TD Garden proved to be very difficult and caused us to miss the puck drop. Lines for the security scan were obnoxious. Besides that this would’ve been a 5 star. Seats were amazing.

Bruins / Penguins Game - Awesome experience!

    by Trace70 on 4/19/22TD Garden - Boston

It was my first time in balcony seats at TD Garden and we could see perfectly! I honestly don't think there are any seats in that stadium that don't offer a great view of the ice. Great game, great people around (even the Penguins fans), had an all-around great time. :)

Got the job done and we won, too.

by HappyHusband on 3/15/22TD Garden - Boston

The ticket prices are outrageous, the food is better now, but you are still eating stadium food like hot dogs, popcorn, bad pretzels and over priced drinks. Ok, we know that is the deal now seeing any professional sport. My wife loves hockey and so I bought these tickets as a gift to her. She was thrilled and so happy, so in that regard it got the job done. The Bruins won in the last period and that was great too. I never told her we spent enough where we could have gone away for the weekend, which she also likes. With all the tv money I don't understand why these owners and their greed needs to gouge their loyal fans. A solid C+ for the financial end and our own joy was an A-

    cool game!

by casc on 2/24/22TD Garden - Boston

reservation went smooth - until ... I was not able to download the ticket to my ticketmaster app (no idea why, maybe because it's with a Swiss account?). Contact with ticketmaster failed (mail - no chance since I booked 6 hrs prior to the event. phone - no chance since they work not on President's Day...). So I had to go to the venue hours before the start to get help (wich - and this is the good news - I got by a very helpful person at the desk). but then: cool game! moral: I wish it was still possible to print out the ticket on dead wood (i.e. paper)...

    Could of been better.

by Enzo on 2/13/22TD Garden - Boston

Bruins played a better team and was down 2 of their top players. The resale of tickets is going to hurt these events because the cost of the tickets was crazy and the cost of concessions is outrageous.
