About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

    Wonderful, but too hot

by Subaru on 10/14/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

Bonnie Raitt have an excellent concert as usual. She is one of the all-time great performers! Perfect pitch, soulful, appreciative, amazing! The State Theater, however, was hot enough that it detracted from the concert.

    !0/11/23 Bonnie Raitt/Roy Rogers

by MKHSR on 10/14/23State Theatre - Minneapolis

My experience from the Wednesday night show is summed up in one word. Emotional. I laughed and cried as Roy Rogers opened then Raitt and the band took me along for q generous 100 plus minutes of pure adrenalin. Rogers 12 string guitar was melodius, soothing and poignant, beautiful experience for me. Bonnie and the bands performance touched me, from her recent grammy winner to the tribute to Prine, her voice was Raitt on!! The "last song"Bringing down the house did that, the crowd wanted more and Bonnie brought it on! Thank you Bonnie the band and Roy for a memorable night! Come back often, you are Minnesotan............ Ufda! MKHSR

    Balcony was freezing cold

The concert was probably great but we were so cold we couldn’t enjoy it. The draft was constant and very disappointing.

    Good, Warm Performance

by ChicagoBlues on 10/13/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Bonnie Raitt put on a performance at the Chicago Theater that made everyone feel "at home"with her. No smoke bombs, no dancing, no overused electronics, etc., etc. Just a nice and mellow easy performance that focused on the music, stories about her long career, special moments with other artists, etc. Her performance was ideal for a Sunday night. She is a jewel of an artist and I'm glad I had a ticket for this sold out concert.

    An absolutely amazing, heartwarming show

    by Ray S on 10/12/23

I’m a long time fan of Bonnie Raitt, first her solo singing with a guitar then her work as an electric slide guitarist. Her show in Chicago was my first time seeing her live and it was fantastic. Her voice and guitar playing were packed with emotion and she has a way of reaching out and touching her audience. It felt like she was in a 100 seat venue instead the 3,600 seat Chicago Theater, especially when it was just her and her acoustic guitar as she did on the intro of Angel From Montgomery. Her band was perfect and although I could of done with a little less of her opening act, Roy Rogers, I respected her for allowing this revered guitarist another moment to shine in the twilight of his career.

    Just Like That

by Pam on 10/12/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Roy Rogers played way too long. When Bonnie sang her older stuff, it was great. She should have sang more of the fan favorites. But her talent still shined throughout.

    Bonnie Raitt, Better Than Ever

by tthomas4720 on 10/12/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I was astounded that Bonnie Raitt sounded as good as when I first heard her back in the day. She announced that she will be touring next year and you don't want to miss the opportunity to see her if you are lucky enough to buy a ticket.

    The Queen’s Still Got It!

by Zen56 on 10/12/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

At 73, Bonnie Raitt showed everyone that she’s just getting better with age. Her spirit, her musical chops, and of course, that glorious, smoky voice just soared. It was a glorious night, filled with glorious music, a top shelf band, and the age-defying Bonnie Raitt.

It doesn't get much better than Bonnie Raitt live! Her voice is like fine wine, it gets smoother and richer with age. She was beautiful and sassy. It was an excellent show.

    Always phenomenal!!

by Chattykp on 10/11/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I’ve seen Bonnie many times over the 50+ years I’ve been a fan. Sunday was another perfect performance! She is beloved in Chicago, along with her BFF, our dearly departed John Prine. We gave her so many well-deserved standing ovations, altho none as long as when she emotionally sang Angel From Montgomery. She’s a class act and fought thru her pain to bring her best to that meaningful song. I will continue to see her every time she comes to town, as she is my all-time fave! 5th row seats thanks to her fan club presale! Thank you, Bonnie!! Safe travels! See ya next time!!
