Elton John in Concert
Sir Elton Hercules John, English singer, songwriter and pianist, has been a fixture of the soft rock and pop music scene since the early 1960s and toured the globe extensively in his decades-long career. John's 2016-2018 Wonderful Crazy Night Tour has taken him throughout North America, the Middle East and Europe, as did his 2012-2013 Rocket Man 40th Anniversary Tour and 2011-2012 Greatest Hits Tour. John's musical style is marked by his flashy piano work and distinctive lead vocals. He is best known for his easy-listening rock and pop tunes, though, he is equally accomplished at creating works for films and the stage. His live shows combine his expert musicianship with flamboyant costumes and infectious energy, creating an atmosphere that enthralls audiences worldwide. Elton John's musical prowess has earned him numerous accolades. He managed to have a charting Top 40 hit every year from 1970 to 1996 and has crafted timeless melodies like "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," "Crocodile Rock," and "Bennie & The Jets." He's been nominated for nearly 30 Grammy Awards, and won eight, including Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and a Hall of Fame award.
Elton John Background
Born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947, in Pinner, England, John was introduced to music at an early age. He started playing piano at age four, and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at age 11. After leaving the Academy in 1961, he made the decision to pursue a career in music and joined his first band, Bluesology. John met his longtime writing partner, lyricist Bernie Taupin, in the mid-1960s, and since then has collaborated with him on more than 30 albums. Classic albums like his self-titled Elton John and Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player are considered masterpieces to many a rock fan, and works like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road catapulted John to his legendary status. Though John is an icon in the field of music, his worldly influence stretches beyond songwriting and performing. In 1992, he established the Elton John AIDS Foundation, with the express purpose of supporting HIV prevention, education and care for those living with the disease.

He is an excellent entertainer and it was a great show!!!! Shame the acoustics weren't that great. I mean it is a ball field.
It was soooo hard to make out the lyrics of the songs and his voice was garbled.
Elton John had come to Miami and Fort Lauderdale when the yellow brick road farewell tour came. I didn’t go. I had fomo When he announced he was coming back I bought the tix in 2020. Bam the pandemic hit wondering if he was going to come. He was smart postponing his tour two years our, I never sold my tix or got a refund. It was on. Thursday night but it was well worth it. Watching it on Disney and omg I feel like I have front row seats
Recently learned that Mom had always wanted to see Elton John perform but never had the money when she was younger. Just in time, we made that dream come true! Such a fabulous, world class performance, by a truly legendary artist.
Amazing show. What can I say Sir Elton John is awesome.
The light display was amazing The instruments were incredible The number of songs played was more than I expected Elton John was spectacular
Just an amazing 3 hour concert of all his best. He could easily keep going another 20 years but taking time for the family makes sense and he's earned it. So glad I could see him before and I'll be watching the livestream of the final concert at Dodger Stadium.
We had floor tickets for Elton, came in costume, got the venue 1 hour before show time and stood in line for about 50 minutes. The Venue did not have enough resources to accommodate the floor crowd. We made it into the venue just in time to grab a drink and then the show started. So, Chase Field needs to improve their concert entrance (I have been to the world series there, and the process was easier than it was for Elton). After getting over the wait and frustration, the concert itself was incredible. The sound on the floor was clear. Elton was just amazing. His songs and the fans were really into it. Well done Elton, sad it is your last tour, but I am happy that we had the chance to see you. Thanks for adding another day in Phoenix, AZ to accommodate your fans!
I think his music was too loud for his voice, but it was Elton John and I’m just amazed that I was able to see a legend!
There was no signage as to what door to go in pertaining to your seats. We had floor seats and had to wait in three different lines. Completely chaotic. We ended up not getting in a half hour after the concert had started —- our tickets were well over $1000. This was a pathetic display of Chase Field, and whoever is in charge of organizing the flow of people entering the facility. Elton was PERFECTION—a total joy!!!
It was an absolute privilege to see this concert. He was humble and appreciative and just hands down awesome! It was abundantly clear that he was loving every minute and the band was extraordinary.
Went to the EJ concert in Santa Clara at the Levi’s Stadium and he did not disappoint! Loved it so much that I’m going out of my way to see Elton tonight at his last US concert ! Elton has changed my life for the good !
First off, I’d like to give a shout out to the stage crew and sound engineers. Stage set up was awesome. Music quality was amazing. No distortion at all. The visuals and sound were tip top. One of the best shows I‘ve ever been to. Elton is obviously an incredible talent. Sad that this is his final tour, but happy for him that he will get to spend time with his family and have some relaxation in his life. He has had an amazing career and has made lots of people happy with his music. We wish you the best. You deserve it. Thank you again for an amazing show.
This was worth the travel to San Antonio to see Elton John because i missed him in my city and it was a phenomenal concert. My seats were one of the best seats because i could see the stage straight ahead and the entire stadium. A great memory that will stay stuck in my head!
We live in Arizona. The tension immediately following the mid-term election was palpable, you could feel the audience was anxious. Elton John turned the entire evening around. He did not give up on us until we were all on our feet dancing! It was the happiest I have seen Arizoneans in ages. I cannot thank you enough for a spectacular performance and what you did for our state of mind, hearts, and the state of Arizona.
It was amazing, from the request before the concert to dance within our seats and not the aisles, to express ourselves to the videos and performances of Elton himself and the band, and the orderly way everyone greeted each other and exited at the end. I loved the three costume changes and the end with the Collab with Dua Lipa.
Elton John was amazing! The first song was as strong as the last one. Music and videos gave me goose bumps. My first concert was seeing him with KiKi Dee in Madison Square Garden in 1977. So sorry I'll never see him in concert again. Still love him and his music. I hope he enjoys his well deserved time with his family.
Love, loved the show. Great seats! Great price! Worth every penny for the 2.5 hour show! We saw Elton John in Tucson on Valentines Day in the last 25 years! His music never to be forgotten! So so Good! ❤️
Elton John is a legend and he was amazing. However the venue (Chase Field) was unprepared for the volume of people and they set up a bar RIGHT in front of our row AA seats, causing us not to be able to see. We arrived 30 minutes before the show (assured via email that security would be quick and easy) and didn’t get into until 20 minutes after the start. It was complete chaos and most people pushed through security without any checks. Honestly i could've carried a bazooka through and no one would've noticed. We paid extra money to be seated in the front row (which on the website showed as a balcony type.) When we finially got to our seats, there was a make shift bar set up for the floor seats right in front of our row. Everyone in our row complained about the placement of the bar. We would never have paid so much had we known.
acoustics in Chase terrible. won't go there again. Elton John wonderful..
