    Great holiday evening

by The Half-Dark Knight on 1/3/20Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

A real fun and solid performance. The young kids in particular were amazing. The only reason this isn’t a 5 is that there were several times that some of the performers mics weren’t working that ended up damaging the overall flow and sound. But I would definitely see them again!

    Silent Sounds of Blackness

by Winter Wonderland on 12/23/19Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

The performance was strong and the voices were beautiful. There were times when we could not hear the singers. It was obvious either the sound system was off or their mics were not positioned properly. Fix the sound system and this performance would be much improved.

    Show was great

    by L. on 12/22/19Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

But, there was some technical difficulties where you couldn't hear performers at times and the back to lead singer balance was off so the lead was often overpowered.

    Sounds of Blackness a mistake

by Brieux on 3/4/13Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

The program was great, but next year lets focus o "Gospel". I get it about Sounds of Blackness and the positive message, bu Gospel is about praising my God, and receiving the strength from him, not something I do by myself. I will say one thing they really know how to clear a room. I stayed out of respect, and wish more would have done the same. Next year is 30 years, so lets focus on Gospel, and there are so many great groups in the area that need to be appreciated, Amen

    Northside Community Event was spectacular!

by SilverDragon on 6/15/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

So much talent, so much love for the North side was on display at this benefit concert. I was so disappointed to see so many empty seats. It's hard to believe that this event was organized in just a few days.

Northside: A Twin Cities Community Benefit

by Anamaja on 6/15/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

An poorly attended, but incredible benefit event: Four hours of wonderful and/or solid volunteer performances by a large number of diverse and mostly professional musical groups (some famous) with connections to tornado stricken North Minneapolis. The time moved quickly; I was lucky to have a ticket.

    benefit was amazing

by unclebdh on 6/15/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

This was a great event to support the residents of the north side who recently suffered the effects of the tornado. My wife and I know some of the individuals who were effected. To have the acts that performed for this benefit was well worth the money. My only regret was that more people did not support the event. May God Blesseveryone who helped bring this together, and especially Bless those on the north side for healing and holness.

    It was good

    by MKD002 on 6/14/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

It was good, It was long, but it was good. I liked the way the MC invited the balcony people to come down to the main floor and there was no issue made of it. It was meant to be a "community" get together and support and you made that possible for all involved.

This was an incredible evening -- from the amazing talent found in Minneapolis' Northside to Twin Cities-based national/international acts. It was a powerful and moving evening of eclectic, uplifting music and spoken word!
