Dru Cutler Tickets

Dru Cutler is a working part of the Brooklyn music scene. He is the co-founder of Unit J, a Bushwick music space which has hosted hundreds of shows and was nominated for' "Best Live Music Venue" on Brokelyn.com. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist graduated on to work with Grammy-award winning producers Dave McNair (Bob Dylan, David Bowie), Scott Lehrer (Philip Glass, Rufus Wainwright), and Andy Taub (Norah Jones, Ani DeFranco).

Obsessed with marrying the past and present, Dru Cutler describes his music as "digital nostalgia". His new record, "Bring Closer the Distance" tells more vulnerable, personal stories. Including a tribute to his stepmother in a song called "Judy" ' who disappeared from his life when he was twenty one years old. Other key tracks include: "Oceanside" - a hypnotically percussive mystical rocker. Its intensity provides the foundation for musings about the solace that mother nature provides him during times of intense tribulation. In short, the ocean has a healing power. "Brain Place" - an epic indie-rock gem that addresses how overwhelming today's world can be. Feels like we're "eternally bored" while "the media screams and spits in the fire".
