There is nothing like the theater. The performance was outstanding! You were drawn into the moment and lived in it!

Stunning performance of West Side Story

by Kathy on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Stunning performance in all ways - orchestral, vocal, choreography, set design, theatre layout and comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is of particular enjoyment to know that the shows are produced in-house....still Broadway quality with a little 'ownership' of the talent.

    Fantastic Talent / Fantastic Performance

by C. n. on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

By putting the orchestra in the back of the stage where they are hidden, the show was in the forefront with no distractions. West Side Story was one of the best I have ever seen!

    Fantastic show

by REBECCA on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I've loved this movie since I was a little girl and I finally got the chance to see the play last week. The performance was everything I expected it to be and more. I was so full of joy I could cry the entire show. Thanks to everyone involved in this production.

    Always a good time

by SP on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

West Side Story has held its own for all of these years because of the music. Music was fabulous and the leafs who played Anita and Maria were top notch singers and actors. This version of the show was a bit slow and they changed the order of some of the scenes. Not sure why they would mess with a Classic.

    Fantastic

by Lynn on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The theater is beautiful and West Side Story costumed in black and white made it even more dramatic. I have seen West Side at least 10 times and felt like each scene was new to me form the first time. Excellent job. All the main cast were amazing and you had a great ensemble too. Keep up the great work. I truly wish I lived closer to enjoy the rest of the season.

    West Side Story

by Hank on 10/23/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The venue is great, you can see the stage well from every seat. The parking is across the street in a security guarded parking deck ($10). The venue sold drinks that you could bring into the theater with you, but sold no snacks. The seats are a little tight, and the floor seats are long rows of full seats. All and all it is a nice place and we plan on going back and seeing more shows..

    Classic with an agenda

by Jules on 10/22/19Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

My mom and I were so excited about seeing our favorite movie on stage for the first time. The music was beautiful, the voices top quality, and the choreography mostly top notch. However, the need to turn this classic into an exaggerated political statement was unnecessary and left a bad taste. It's condescending to an audience to act as though we are unable to come to our own conclusions about the story, and we need the "elite" to explain it to us. I enjoy theater that makes me think, not shoves a message down my throat.
