About

Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

    A memorable evening

by Liesl on 4/15/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

I was a little concerned about the topic of this show. I remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday, at least I thought I did. I got a few reminders of things that I had forgotten. This show is so well done. The actors are on the move throughout the performance and a few actors play several roles. The additional characters are shown to the audience through a quick and simple costume change. The background changes just a few times. Scene changes are brought about through the use of a grouping of chairs. Sometime these chairs are seats on a plane, sometimes seats on a bus, sometimes seats in a bar or the school gym. There are bits of levity throughout to help lighten the serious content. This show reminds us that even in our darkest days, there are those out there who are willing to help, even those they do not know and may never see again.

    Truly Inspiring Show

by Chris on 4/14/24Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

The show was amazing. Great actors and actresses. They really tugged at my heartstrings. The struggles and emotions were real and brought tears to my eyes. Being a true story, it gave me hope in humankind and was very inspiring. It was my second time seeing this show and I would definitely see it again. I would highly recommend this show.

    Fantastic!

by Renee on 4/14/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

I didn’t know quite what to expect, however, I laughed, cried, and clapped for the sad but true reminder of that fateful day. The show portrayed the events surrounding the experiences of 9/11 and its impacts the world over. We all had our memories of what happened, but couldn’t help but want to embrace and help the town and its visitors as we watched them experience each moment. A must see!

    Fantastic !

by Paul on 4/14/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show was packed. The quality of the performance was excellent. The only real negative was that people were still filing in at the proposed start time, so the start was delayed by about 15 minutes. The energy of the full venue was worth the delayed starting time.

    Loved loved loved it!

by Zara Z on 4/13/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

So I’m from the US and bought a summer home in Newfoundland and learned about this from the Gander Airport (and from the amazing people.) Standing there in part of the airport reading about what they did-brought me to tears. I then learned about Come From Away. It was imperative I see this. I’ve seen off broadway before, plays in different locations, etc. hands down one of the best, if not the best I’ve seen. Hoping to see it again in NL! 🫶🏻🙌🏻

I want to be a Newfoundlander!

by jake on 4/13/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

This show was excellent. I missed out on the broadway production, but when I saw it was coming near me I jumped on it 5 months in advance and this show lived up to the hopes I had for it. The cast is so talented and everyone gets a chance to stand out in so many different roles. There’s a really strong community on stage and they bring everything they can to the audience. It is a wonderful show.

    Couldn’t hear

by Bob on 4/13/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

Enjoyed the show but missed most of the dialogue because of acoustics in the rows nearest the stage.

Should've seen it in a major city

by Laura on 4/13/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show itself was wonderful. It was amazing how a limited cast and no large set changes only enhanced the skills of the actors. The music at the end was a huge highlight. My issue was where we saw this performance. I will never ever go to Santander Performing Arts Centers again. Do not confuse this playhouse with the Santander Arena in Reading--they are not the same building. I left a review on the playhouse's website so I will not rehash it here. My advice though if you want to see this wonderful show, go to a major city and not an inefficient, expensive, and unskilled venue such as the Performing Arts Center. High school musical productions and community theater locations are superior. My only criticism about the play is that the beginning part felt a bit drawn out and I started to lose a bit of interest. However, it got much stronger in the second half. Again, nothing to do with the acting (that was wonderful), but the storyline dipped a bit.

    Amazing show

by JZ on 4/13/24The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show was absolutely amazing! I appreciated the fact that there was no intermission and that the show was nonstop. The show touched all kinds of emotions, from sadness to humor. Great job to the actors!
