Despite the negative reviews and the loss of revenue, we found Escape to Margaritaville to be a wonderful tribute to the casual lifestyle of Jimmy Buffett's music. We looked around the theater and it was obvious why this play was not a "New York" thing. All of the audience was in tropical mode, with beach shirts, shorts, etc. Hard to imagine yourself there when right outside the door of the theater was the city scape. Probably not too many "parrot heads" in Times Square. Run this show in the gulf towns or Miami, and it will succeed!
