    Witnessing history

by Ligniere on 4/10/18TaxSlayer Center (Formerly known as the iWireless Center) - Moline

We wanted to be at the final Mallards game to witness history. I’m glad we were. An emotional event in which our beloved sports team won their final game. A great event. Thanks for the memories.

For $5 seats we had a great time 3 rows back off the ice. Very memorable experience.

    Quad City Mallards-2018

by dsgjfhjhh on 1/17/18TaxSlayer Center (Formerly known as the iWireless Center) - Moline

I had great seats for this game. I got to sit second row very near the penalty boxes. The game itself was amazing...the Mallards played hard but unfortunately came up short 4-3. The TaxSlayer Center is a beautiful facility. It's clean and comfortable and it's easy to find your seats. Additionally, the food choices there are all amazing. I love going to Mallards hockey games. They always play hard and leave it all on the ice for their fans...you can't ask for much more than that from an ECHL team. In summary, great hockey team playing in a clean, comfortable arena with good food and drinks. I've been to quite a few of these games over the years and I will definitely back.

Family Fun but Not Super Exciting

by ThirtySomethingMom on 1/2/18TaxSlayer Center (Formerly known as the iWireless Center) - Moline

We travelled 3 hours to watch the Mallards vs Komets at TaxSlayer Center in Macomb, IL. We've seen the Komets play at home (in Ft. Wayne, IN) a few times and it is always a crowded, thrilling time! Tons of people fill the venue, loud cheering, horns, up/down in seats and VERY FUN! The experience in Macomb was a far cry from thrilling. Only maybe 20% of the seats were filled, there was only a bit of cheering occasionally (a lot of which was the Komets fans), plus the temp was cold INSIDE. To be fair it was exceptionally cold outside, and so maybe people didn't want to go out?? There were some PROS to the low-key atmosphere - we had good parking in the garage right by the skywalk so we didn't have to walk very far in the freezing temp, there were virtually no lines for anything, the horns weren't very loud so they didn't scare my 4 year old (who we had warned of the "scary" buzzer) in fact I don't think she ever even heard it, and the kids were able to wonder around the stands when they got antsy - since there were so few people near us. If you live nearby and want to take the family to a sporting event that's not over-stimulating this may be the one for you. However, I wouldn't travel 3 hours for the same experience again. **I will add, all of the people working the venue were very nice and we did have a good time!

    Hockey

Although I was disappointed that the Mallards didn’t win, it’s a hockey game. How can you not have fun at a hockey game?

Switching Seats Didn't Help the Mallards Score

by JMCx2 on 11/22/17TaxSlayer Center (Formerly known as the iWireless Center) - Moline

My wife & I attended all three Mallards game over the weekend, and saw a game postponement followed by two home losses. For the Sunday game vs. the visiting Kansas City Mavericks (my wife's favorite ECHL team), we sat in the end suite of a local friend for the first two periods, then switched back to our ticketed lower bowl seats near center ice. The end suites extend over the end glass almost out to the end goal line, which offer a very unique perspective of the game (with opportunities to heckle the opposing goaltender in the 2nd period). But we prefer the lower bowl center seating, which offers good sightlines to all parts of the playing surface. Unfortunately the switch didn't help the home team rally, and they were shut out, but it was still an entertaining hockey game. The Mallards also hold a post-game opportunity on Sundays for fans to skate with some of the players on the TaxSlayer Center ice. This is a popular event, and my wife & I enjoyed participating. The players are friendly & very gracious, and autograph/photo opportunities abound. Bring your own gear, and enjoy a chance to skate & chat with the pros.

Half a Hockey Game-Then the REAL Excitement Began

by JMCx2 on 11/20/17TaxSlayer Center (Formerly known as the iWireless Center) - Moline

My wife & I attended the Tulsa Oilers @ Quad City Mallards game on Friday, November 17. We've been to several Mallards games at this arena before (and two more after this night), and have always enjoyed the game atmosphere & play on the ice. The local fans are very supportive of their team, and always welcoming to fans from out-of-town like us. The former iWireless Center is a comfortable venue with good sightlines & well-maintained public areas. On this night, Tulsa took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period, but the hometown Mallards quickly scored to make it 2-1 and get the crowd revved up. Unfortunately play was halted & eventually the game was postponed with just over half of regulation time remaining, because the Oilers' head coach fell ill on the bench and had to be taken to a local hospital. Luckily they found it was just a combination of exhaustion & dehydration, and he was sent home after an overnight stay to make a full recovery. Not the way anyone wants a sporting event to end, but under the circumstances it was the right decision by all parties.

I would recommend QC MAllards games to anyone. They are always entertaining and fun for kids as well. The prices are a little high but Im sure it cost a lot to keep the Venue going so I am okay with that.
