About

From the creators of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon and the producers of Riverdance comes a spectacular new musical adventure and an epic romance.

THE PIRATE QUEEN combines classic storytelling with a sweeping score and joyous dancing to celebrate the real-life story of legendary Irish Chieftain Grace O'Malley: a compelling, inspiring heroine who led an extraordinary life as a pirate, chieftain, lover and mother in 16th Century Ireland. Her quest to protect her people - and save her one true love - embarks her on a thrilling voyage that climaxes in a heated confrontation with the one woman more powerful than her...her fierce rival, Queen Elizabeth I of England.

THE PIRATE QUEEN features an original score from the world-renowned Tony Award® winning team of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, direction by Tony Award winner Frank Galati, musical staging by Tony Award nominee Graciela Daniele, and a spectacular cast of 42 led by Stephanie J. Block, Hadley Fraser, Linda Balgord, Marcus Chait, Jeff McCarthy and William Youmans.

    Terrible Show

by Anonymous on 9/17/10Palace Theatre - Chicago

Horrific theatre experience. This was one of the worst shows I have seen. The most exciting part of the show was the overture. A complete ripoff and blend of Les Miz and Miss Saigon. The characters, songs, etc all seemed to be or tried to be a recreation of what has already been done with Les Miz and Miss Saigon. What a shame...nothing worked here. Stephanie Block is a talented actress with the misfortune of being in a terrible play. I was not surprised it closed so quickly on Broadway. There is nothing memorable about the show.
