Great show! Dancing, singing and acting were fantastic. Loved the creative way they changed the sets between scenes. Final ballet scene was a bit long. But aside from that all around great show. I highly recommend it!

Had a fantastic time with my daughter was so happy to be there on opening night, the theater was electric and the show was amazing, it was a feast for the eyes and considering it was first time on Broadway for the 2 leads, they were incredible, we enjoyed every minute. I would say if you like musicals and especially the ballet, it's a must see.

    Beautiful, traditional - yet relevant

by Zuzus on 4/15/15Palace Theatre New York - New York

This show is a game changer! It has brought the world of ballet and infiltrated it to the Broadway theater. I have always loved the ballet, but I hope that those who have not will gain a new appreciation for its beauty and ability for story telling. The dialogue can fall a bit flat at times, and I would have appreciated a bit more edge in the humor to lighten it up, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to friends

    Mesmerizing

by Woosha on 4/14/15Palace Theatre New York - New York

We have been to a lot of musicals. This one truly deserved all the accolades it received from the audience. Most people just give standing ovations automatically. This one deserved it. Sets, Lighting, Costumes, Choreography, Cast, Musical Score, Orchestra, etc. could not have been better. This musical is a Winner and must see.

An American in Paris was exquisite!

by PK1950 on 4/14/15Palace Theatre New York - New York

This was an unforgettable experience. The fantastically beautiful Gershwin music, the amazing dancing and the singers, made for a day I'll remember always. The talented performers are now Broadway stars, if they weren't before. I always loved the movie with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. This update was not a disappointment. I would go again.

An American In Paris is a Winner

by Sinjincat on 4/14/15Palace Theatre New York - New York

Jerry & Lise (played by Robert Fairchild & the disarmingly beautiful Leanne Cope) have a palpable chemistry that makes this love story so enchanting. The lavish staging and dazzling choreography (by Christopher Wheeldon, also the director) shows in every scene. You'll leave the theater with a ear-to-ear, feel-good smile. S'Wonderful !!!

Where do I start? Now I see why one goes to see new ballets repeatedly to see all there is to see. The magnificent choreography was almost but only almost upstaged by the phenomenal use of computer graphics and lighting to make the stage really feel like you were outside on a Paris street, inside the Gallerie Lafeyette, or in Radio City Music hall, and the staging for the FULL LENGTH BALLET which was just one of the many "musical numbers," was right out of the Pictures at an Exhibition which I just saw at the NYCB. The transitions were all Wheeldon, I'd seen the likes of them before, and the use of billowing flags and fabrics and glimmering panels was divine. The cast was obviously hand picked and the choreography and direction as you'd expect. I especially liked a double axel (I thought only ice skaters did those) and the image of his easily clearing the department store counter with one leg on a turn stays with me. I'm going to watch the movie one night this week, well, just because I have to.
