Nice but not what I expected

Disney’s ALADDIN is a dazzling and extravagant showcase of special effects — including a flying magic carpet during “A Whole New World” — as well as glittering-gold costumes and art deco-style sets that mirror the grandeur of a Busby Berkeley musical. One of Broadway’s most popular musical comedies, the show opened at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, and has since broken numerous house records (grossing over $500 million on Broadway). Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken composed the show’s music. The lyrics are by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), as well as three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice and six-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin. The book is by Beguelin and direction/choreography is by two-time Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw.

It made me think of a very good school representation, but it wasn’t as professional as I thought.
It was an incredible experience. I loved every second of it. I got goosebumps listening to so many talented people. I wouldn’t mind watching this again. My son and my sister enjoyed it as well.
It was amazing! From every aspect - music, actors, costumes, scenery, props!
The show was amazing. The set was beautiful and the actors were phenomenal. It’s a really fun experience for you and your family!
Professionalism, talent, high level performance. We all appreciated this fantastic show in the oldest Theatre of Broadway. It really worth the high tickets price! I would see it again and again.
Dancers were very good, special effects very nice, entire show was very nice, I was extremely satisfied
Pros - costumes, choreography and set all fabulous. Disney went all out on this part. Magic carpet scene was impressive. Cons- Aladdin and Jasmine looked the part but weren’t the best singers or dancers. Missed the animal characters.
Every year for the past few years my husband and I take my son's family to a show on Broadway. We have seen a few Disney classics however Aladdin was the best one thus far! The actors were amazing and added a personal touch to the show. Their voices were outstanding. The connections, that the actors, made with the audience provided an inclusive feel. It's a must see show no matter what age you are!!!
My thoughts on Aladdin. It was very good, the costumes were amazing. The set was unique, versatile and well thought out. The performers were wonderful, the lead, currently a fellow Peabody Conservatory alum, Michael Maliakel was outstanding. Princess Jasmine was amazing with a lovely voice. There was great chemistry among the cast, especially with the wonderful performance of Aladdin's three friends Kassim, Omar and Babkak. The magic carpet "whole new world"was to say the least magical and brilliant as only Disney could have done. I only had 3 complaints: Bathrooms, holy cow the Bathrooms are a joke, far too few no way to meet demand. The Genie, while his entertainment value and showmanship do the character justice, and were very good, his singing voice was meh at best (sure that's harsh I know but it was cringe inducing) to be fair it was a matinee performance and maybe he rocked it last night. Finally, the biggest sin, it was over amplified. I made it about 1/2 way through the opening number barely understanding a thing or note played before putting in my ear plugs. By doing that I suddenly had vocal and orchestral clarity. Everything it seems is being amped, every instrument every voice and not in a good way, if I were Disney I'd hire some new sound people.
Thoroughly enjoyable show, expected good things and boy this did not disappoint. Performances were great and sets were magical. Highly recommended
It was our first broadway show Ever, and it was the most magical experience that we’ve had as a family. We can not Wait to come back to NY and repeat , twice, a broadway show. !! Amazing
Una experiencia fantástica . Es un gran espectáculo
We enjoyed Aladdin…all of the actors were very talented especially the Genie and the parrot. We did feel the sets/props were minimal and did not love the music Which was not in the original movie.
We went with a party of 6. My parents, me and my wife and the children. Everyone had a blast. There is laughter, beautiful songs and lovely dancing. I recommend this play when you like the story.
Every member of the cast is incredibly talented and the show was done wonderfully!
I went to see Aladdin with my family including two kids aged 7 and 10 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The costumes , set designs and singing were all great. Favorite cast member of my family was the Genie. I also thought the actor who played Aladdin did a great job. Jasmine had a nice singing voice, acting was ok. Overall pleasant experience and would recommend! 2 hr 15 min show plus a 15 min intermission. Not many snack options (pringles, candy, and drinks incl cocktails). Theater was also beautiful. Sat in orchestra section 10 rows back. Perfect viewing.
I brought a woman who had her child good memories come back to her. She was more excited than the little girls that attended the show. I just smiled and let the actors do their part. It was an amazing show I can only imagine what she thought of it.
Amazing show for the whole family! Even my 3 year old loved it. The vocals, dancing, and magic all well performed. Costume and set changes were spectacular! Surprises and humour throughout! Very entertaining with familiar parts from the original movie with new parts that pulled the story together seamlessly for today’s audience.
This show was fantastic! The genie was amazing and the magic carpet ride scene was epic! My 7 yr old loved it as well as my entire family!
Aladdin was amazing! The floor moving to give genie the magic effect blew my kids away. We loved the pyrotechnics, the confetti, beautiful costumes, mobile sets and fantastic acting and singing. Everything we expected and so much more.
