Alabama Crimson Tide Football History

The Alabama Crimson Tide have won 18 national championships, earning their first in 1925 under Wallace Wade, and continuing into the Nick Saban era. Some of the greatest college football coaches of all time have led the Tide, including Frank Thomas, Gene Stallings and Paul "Bear" Bryant, the latter of whom led Alabama to six national titles from 1958 to 1982. Alabama is also home to four Heisman Trophy winners: Mark Ingram Jr. in 2009, Derrick Henry in 2015, DeVonta Smith in 2020 and Bryce Young in 2021. Other legendary Alabama players include Bart Starr, Joe Namath, Ken Stabler, Ozzie Newsome and Derrick Thomas.

Coach Nick Saban has led the Tide to new heights within the last decade, taking Alabama to BCS Championships in 2009, 2011 and 2012, and to appearances in the first five College Football Playoffs, winning in 2015, 2017 and 2020.

Alabama has plenty of rivals in and out of the Southeastern Conference, but their biggest nemesis by far are the Auburn Tigers, who they play annually in the Iron Bowl. The rivalry began in 1893 and grew with the prestige of both football programs. Auburn coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan is credited for coining the Iron Bowl name in 1964. The Iron Bowl has become a top-line matchup in college football in the 21st century, with at least one team ranked in the Top 25 entering the game every year since 2004. Between 2008 and 2018, at least one team in the Auburn-Alabama rivalry had been ranked either first or second going into the Iron Bowl, giving national title implications to an already bitter in-state feud.

    Great Game, Great Experience!

    by MrsTraylor on 11/26/22

For our first Alabama home game it was amazing! Ticket prices were great, the view was great too! Only thing I hated was the 30 minute walk from the parking lot to the stadium. Next time I will definitely pay more money to park closer by the stadium.

    AdvoCare Classi

The game with Alabama and USC was great. I am a Tide fan and they won. The purchase of the ticket was very easy. The printing was not clear as the mobile option for your phone was given. Just show your ticket is what was told for instructions. Ticket take needed to scan purchase but there was no barcode.

    Bama vs. USC

    by 47Rob on 9/7/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

Great stadium. Great first quarter, the rest of the game was a blowout. Seats were great.

    Bama game was great!

    by Sewsew9 on 9/6/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

The game was great but the PA system is horrible. I couldn't understand anything the announcer said. I paid way too much money to have a terrible seat, pay 8.50 for a hamburger (which was really good though), 7.00 for a coke and get to my seat and find my view was of the back of a camera man's head!

    USC Fans have zero class

by Thatguymomwarneduabout on 9/6/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

The game was great and heightened with anticipation. However, the absolutely classless folks representing USC were terrible. Multiple fights, BEFORE entering the stadium, threats for cheering Alabama while seated near USC fans. Obviously, they have never had an event where fans for the opposing team would be present. The stadium was amazing. Not. Bad seat inside. I would recommend any event at AT&T, unless USC were involved. Congratulations UCLA, you know represent the classy LA university.

    Excellent Stadium

We enjoyed watching a game at the AT & T Stadium. It has the best replay video board we have seen yet! It was well worth the trip

Great game/atmosphere. 400 level not worth it

by Edwardswa on 9/6/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

Great game for Alabama fans. Great rivalry atmosphere pre-game and until the score got out of hand. Seats in the 400 level are not generally worth the cost.

    Great game

by RollTideTx on 9/6/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

We sat in the Bama end zone. I didn't know what "limited mobility seating" meant and still don't. I had to go to another level for the restroom but that wasn't an issue. This was a great game and great seats.

    Overpaid for a Worthless Experience

by TravsFriend on 9/6/16AT&T Stadium - Arlington

The stadium is beautiful, and the seats were great even if they were in the endzone. There was not an obstructed view of the field...but as a USC fan, I wish I could have blocked everything that I witnessed on the field. I do not recommend paying this much money for a regular season game, especially to watch your favorite team get annihilated, but the seats would have been worth it for a bowl game or NFL playoff experience.
