Trans-Siberian Orchestra On Tour
The holidays rock a whole lot harder than they ever have thanks to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance, a symphonic sense of scope, and an eye-popping visual presentation complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of today's top-selling acts, with over 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999.
Now, to celebrate the band's 20th year on the road, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is mounting an all-new production of the show that first turned them into an arena-rock phenomenon. First performed in 1999 and recorded for a TV special – which became just as much of a holiday staple as ‘The Sound of Music' – ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve' was conceived by Paul O'Neill, TSO's original mastermind. A veteran producer for acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill was inspired by the rock operas of The Who and the grandly theatrical concerts of Pink Floyd to create something that was even more spectacular. Together with Savatage members Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli, O'Neill developed a unique project that married the spirit of the season with all the exhilarating sounds, operatic grandeur, and visual bravura that fans had come to expect of rock gods. After the massive success of TSO's first two albums, ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories' and ‘The Christmas Attic,' O'Neill and his team took it on the road (and TV screens) with similarly blockbuster results.
Though TSO's repertoire would extend far beyond holiday songs to encompass the greats of classical music on ‘Beethoven's Last Night' and O'Neill's own original rock operas like ‘Night Castle,' their thrilling and highly singular take on seasonal music remains their trademark. Tragically, O'Neill's passing in 2017 robbed the music world of a true visionary. But his team of friends and collaborators in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra honor his legacy with a new production of ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Past' that both preserves and revitalizes a landmark merger of music, theatrics, storytelling, and seasonal cheer that yielded an international phenomenon.

We bought tickets for the 2022 season of TSO for our son's 10th birthday. He loves TSO and had been wanting to see it for a few years. So we drove 3.5hrs and got a hotel so we could see them for a weekend show. We left an hour before the afternoon show was supposed to start. Got stuck in traffic on the highway but we expected that. We even pre-purchased parking ahead of time so that wouldn't be an issue. What we didn't expect was absolutely no police presence as we got on the main road to the venue and traffic moved at a snail's pace. Our parking lot was only a couple blocks from the venue and it took us over 45mins to move 5 blocks due to lights, other cars trying to squeeze through the intersections, etc. There was no directing of traffic or help to keep the traffic flowing. It was devastating. We ended up being over 1/2hr late for the show. The only positive was we made it to our seats before Carol of the Bells which is our son's favorite. The other downfall, which is by no means TSO's fault exactly, was our seat location. If looking at the stage, we were in the upper level on the left hand side. At that height, you miss out on a LOT of the light show and experience seeing it from a lower level. The lights that flashed all over the place was right at our eye level as well and was constantly right in our eyes. It just didn't hold the same experience, awe and amazement that our son was hoping for and it was a bit of a disappointment for him. We ultimately ended up leaving early because the lights flashing constantly at eye level was too much for him and he just wasn't enjoying the experience. I may try again another year and see if we can't get tickets on the floor level, but I'm not sure.
It was a great show. This time I took my significant other and our son (8 years old) to the show as a Christmas gift. We loved the show. We loved how they had the performance off the stage.
This is becoming an annual event for me and my son, while the songs may repeat the show does not. you will have such a great time, seriously if you don't must be something wrong with you, another plus for me was the excel center IMHO very user friendly so that too is a plus, the only negative is they seem to lean toward light beer I like regular Budweiser (hint) LOL... Back to the Band and the show totally awesome mix of musical instruments who would think a violin could or would jam like that, the arrangements are awesome, the vocals are like wow and the visuals spectacular.

I had enjoyed TSO in the past but this was the first for my 11 yr old son. He was absolutely mesmerized! What an amazing performance!
Always delivers the best experience in Christmas Time the holidays are so exciting time of the year and the TransSiberian Orchestra put the cherry on top of the cake We are very happy to be there and we looking forward to seeing again next Christmas
Trans-Siberian Orchestra was awesome. Very entertaining. However, we were very unhappy with the number of people that continually went up and down the steps blocking our view. Why would you pay for a concert and then not sit down and watch it. The constant movement was annoying.
Everyone said I should see it for myself so I finally decided to go and I was awestruck. It was amazing. I told everyone I knew and I assure you, it won't be my last. Next year, I'm hoping to bring my 15 year old son! I bet he would love it just as much!!
These guys were not only awesome but The best professionally with a narrorator who had a great voice to tell thier story! We absolutely loved it!!! We arr hopong to see them this year in the Nutter Center, closer to home! Im taking my mom this time, shes so excited to go!
