About Tortuga Music Festival

There's hardly a more stunning concert locale than the white sand beaches of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, home to the annual Rock the Ocean's Tortuga Music Festival. This three-day, multi-stage extravaganza has been gathering some of the biggest and brightest stars in country, rock and roots since its inaugural year in 2013. This is "music's biggest beach party," according to the festival's creators, the Rock the Ocean Foundation. The nonprofit focuses on spreading awareness of turtle and shark conservation, coral reef degradation, overfishing and marine pollution. A portion of all proceeds from the Tortuga Music Festival go toward the foundation, which helps fund numerous researchers and ocean conservation organizations. This means, alongside a killer lineup of artists, the festival also offers interactive exhibitions and activities at their Conservation Village, including virtual shark dives, conversations with ocean conservationists, a live auction and a "trash trade program," which grants you prizes for cleaning up the beach as you enjoy the sweet sounds of your favorite artists in the background.

A glimpse at past lineups reveals an impressive array of country superstars such as Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean. The fest has also welcomed Southern rock vets Lynyrd Skynyrd, reggae icon Ziggy Marley, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow, and even a few rap greats like Nelly and Flo Rida. The Tortuga Music Festival is usually held in mid-April, though the 2020 event was rescheduled. Still, it boasts one of the event's most diverse lineups, including Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Barenaked Ladies, Pitbull, Toots & The Maytals and Vanilla Ice. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sun, sea and sand and, of course, plenty of great sounds while helping a good cause and keeping this coastal strip of Florida beautiful.
