Great foodie program- issue with AV.

by Kathy on 2/1/24Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom - Uncasville

The food was excellent and the program was very good. Unfortunately the AV equipment at the Mohegan was not working well most of the event!

Happy to see Martha but we could not hear her

by Jenni on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom - Uncasville

Brunch was good. I was glad to see allergy issues considered with labels letting us know what was gluten and dairy free but very very sad that no desserts were gluten free and none labeled for allergy concerns. Forgoing all desserts was a sad reality with all the beautiful treats. The volume was an incredible disappointment. The lack of proper sound detracted substantially. I watched many people try to voice concerns and was dismayed to see it was not rectified during the event. This was beyond disappointing.

    Not what it once was

by Sad wine drinker on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

This was the first year since Covid that my wife and I attended and it wasn’t anything like it used to be. There was no organization of vendors and it seemed they had more spirits than wines. They changed the location to a different area, not much for signage to guide you to the new location. The event area reminded me of being in a state fair building, all that was missing was the guy selling the shamwow. The experience wasn’t worth the money, sadly I think this will be our last time attending.

Meet and Greet with Mr. Ty Law

by Ricky G on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook - Uncasville

It was a pleasure to meet and speak with Ty Law in FANDUEL at Mohegan Sun. Ty came charging up the stairs, we all tasted his Corvus Vodka line (the Pure is Smoooth). He spent time with everyone shaking hands and just talking to us like we were old friends! Also, thanks to Michelle for making our drinks and having a conversation with me about what Bourbons we like. Thank you Mr Law, sir!!

Great idea for an event but not executed well

by Saltburn on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom - Uncasville

Couldn’t hear half the time. The microphones were all making extra noise and no engineers or management there to fix any issues. For the Amount of money spent I would’ve like to at least heard the conversations happening.

    disappointing

by dnate on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom - Uncasville

This years event was not as enjoyable as last year with Buddy V. Last year at the end you got your picture with Buddy taken if you wanted. This year it was not the same, told no pictures. Yet when Mohegan posted pictures it seems a select few were able to get photos. Last years event was much more enjoyable, food was fair at best. Wasn't as personable this year.

    Fun!

by Csam on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

It was a great day with lots of great drink samples. This is probably our 9th year in a row and could have been our favorite. The free food samples were definitely a nice touch that I hope is now a yearly occurrence.

Deafening music makes for a bad food and wine event.

by Deb on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom - Uncasville

We’ve been to the Celebrity Chef dine around for several years since 2020. We go because we are foodies. We love trying the food and talking about the wine pairings. The past several years however, the music has been unbearable. I thought last year maybe it was just a fluke and was amazed that the music this year was even LOUDER! Are you kidding me? I don’t want to have to scream at my friends to even try to talk about the dishes. Mohegan needs to decide: Is this a food and wine event or a dance party because it can’t be both!! Massively disappointed in Mohegan especially since the ticket prices have skyrocketed and the event is getting worse by the year. It’s all so unnecessary…. Zero need to blare music like that! I didn’t buy tickets to a freaking music concert! I just don’t understand the point. You could barely even say anything besides “hi” to the chefs who are always awesome and lovely to talk to when they can hear you. Do better Mohegan…..

Not what it used to be

by Sarah on 1/31/24Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

Winefest used to be where we dressed up and went to the ballroom. There were photo booths, music and dancing. Now it’s bright lights, cement floors and cold vibe. We used to have 10 couples come for this event. We are now down to 3. It’s as though they took the life out of the Winefest.

    Whoa, the noise

by Scrappin on 1/30/24Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

The preview was awesome. Lots of space with great food and drink options. The grande tasting wasn’t much different but with more people and some more well known chef presentations. The celebrity dine around was a deafening DJ in which you couldn’t hear your partner, other guests, or even the chefs describing the food and drink. I was told by an organizer that this was the plan. I learned later that the sound was reduced after several complaints (I had already left). The organizers should. (Hopefully) clarify their fine dining planned experience for future experiences The casino was welcoming and the rooms were very nice. The valet service was fantastic even at the busiest of times.
