The Pretenders in Concert

The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs like "I'll Stand By You," "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Don't Get Me Wrong." The band has sold over 25 million albums and founder & leader Chrissie Hynde is one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. Chrissie's 2015 memoir Reckless: My Life As a Pretender, was hailed by the New York Times upon its release as "honest and distinctive... a love letter to rock and roll." After delivering 2016's unflinchingly head-strong Alone album (produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach), the Pretenders continue to tour worldwide.

The Pretenders on Tour

The Pretenders are set for an extensive North American tour in 2020 with Journey to feature all new production and hits from start to finish in the 60+ date tour. Fans can expect to hear iconic classics from The Pretenders and Journey.

    Good venue

by San on 10/5/23The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

We liked the venue, had never been to the Regent downtown. The Pretenders so rarely come here without being part of a festival or with another band, so we were excited to see them. Chrissie Hynde sounded great, the band was excellent, that being said we really wanted to hear more of her old stuff, brass in pocket, Cuban slide, mystery achievement etc. , she played 22 songs, about 7 classics, it was ok the new record is fine, we just weren't anticipating so many new songs...still a fan will always love the pretenders.

The greatest RocknRoll band in the world, the show was perfect from beginning to end. I’m 63 and my son is 19, we both loved it!

I was so happy to see The Pretenders opening for Guns n Roses at Fenway Park in Boston. Chrissy's was incredible and the band was tight. Great setlist! Pure awesomeness!

by Sid Detroit on 9/8/23The Shelter - Detroit

Thank you for allowing me to experience the Pretenders in such an intimate venue. The band was amazing and Chrissie’s was no different than when she put out her first album.

    Chrissie Hynde Rocks!

by Bev on 9/8/23The Shelter - Detroit

So happy to have seen The Pretenders in such an intimate setting. I only wish it could have been longer. Her voice; incredible. What a badass she is. Only wish the crowd respected her desire for photos to stop and the lighting not so bright on stage and not n the crowd. I feel very blessed that I was there.

    One to remeber

by Matt G on 9/8/23The Shelter - Detroit

The Pretenders were as good as ever, but seeing them in a small venue like the The Shelter made it so much more intimate and memorable. What a great venue. They have really done a nice job updating The Shelter and St Andrews (upstairs).

Great show at a legendary venue

by JM 61 on 9/5/23The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders are just as relevant today as they were in 1982 when I first saw them. Although their have been many lineup changes this one in my opinion is the best one since the original. With scorching lead guitar licks from James Walbourn it was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Seeing them at any iconic venue like The Stone Pony made it even better!

    No hits!

    by InAP on 9/1/23

She still has it. Great band. But didn’t play any really recognizable songs. None. I get you want promote your new stuff. But throw the crowd a bone. Disappointing.
