Shin Lim on Tour

Catching Shin Lim in the act is unlike watching any other magician perform. Instead of making people disappear or sawing them in half, he simply concentrates on card tricks. But he raises the level of his sleight of hand with a deck of cards to a fine art.

There's drama, music, and a kind of a ballet to Lim's magic. And he's known for performing his illusions without uttering a word, letting his hands and his cards do all the talking while his carefully curated music — Lim started out as a musician — tickles the audience's ears. If you've seen him in one of his many television appearances, be it Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America's Got Talent, or Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you've experienced only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a Shin Lim live performance.

Shin Lim Background

Born in Vancouver to Singaporean parents and raised in Massachusetts, Shin Lim had two passions in his youth: music and magic. He was studying music in college when he learned that he was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery caused him to abandon playing the piano in favor of becoming a professional magician.

He got one of his first big breaks when he was given the chance to tour in China. Since he didn't speak the language, he kept silent during his tricks, and that practice became a signature of his shows. Bringing a bold, unprecedented artistry to the realm of card tricks, Lim really began to hit it big when he worked his magic on TV's Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2015. The performance became a social media sensation that elevated his profile dramatically. Since then, he's frequently appeared on TV, twice becoming a winner on America's Got Talent. And he tours widely, taking his illusions everywhere from Las Vegas to Broadway.

Don't let yourself blink, you won't believe!

by SusanC on 3/25/24The Mirage Theatre - Las Vegas

The performance was amazing. Shin is such a great performer with the story of how he started through the competitions that helped him get to where he is today. The Mentalist was unbelievable with his predictions, you know you are in for questioning everything. At this level the night is phenominal. Shin's wife added grace and talent by performing on the ring; her incorporation of elegance and magic to the night is a treat. She is so graceful and how she adds magic to the stage, bravo! So glad we finally saw Shin and will schedule this one as a repeat.

    Spectacular and Mind bending

by Monica on 3/21/24The Mirage Theatre - Las Vegas

This show NEEDS to be seen! It was our last show of the week and we did not see much advertisement on the strip, so you will not be reminded once you are down there. What a surprise to find out that Colin the Mentalist takes turns with Shin's magic. I don't want to give anything away, but know this: there are 3 screens to watch the upclose card tricks, so you won't miss anything. The theatre has no blind spots in it so any seat is good. We picked middle about 10 rows back.

    Best show in Vegas

by AGT Fan on 3/20/24The Mirage Theatre - Las Vegas

Amazing first rate show and worth more than the ticket price. Shin Lim is a master at his art and in addition, we were treated to Colin Cloud's wit, humor and ability to read minds. Shin Lim's aerialist wife was the cherry on the sundae of a jaw dropping evening at the MIrage. I would definitely see this again the next time we're in Las Vegas.

More than just a magic show!

by Zodiart on 3/20/24The Mirage Theatre - Las Vegas

Loved the show. It gave out so much more. Shin lim himself really mastered his craft. Aside from the tricks. He also created a well told story and music. His guest performers were amazing. Shin lim displayed to the crowd how some card tricks can be done with just math alone but when it came to his own performance it really baffled me on how he is able to do it while beforehand he showed how vulnerable tricks can be with math alone. He dares to defy you're expectations. Making the believable unbelievable. Overall beautiful performance and amazing display of his skills. It has everything and more when watching the show. I will support this man for life.

    Overall boring

by Family with Teens on 3/19/24The Mirage Theatre - Las Vegas

The show was overall pretty boring. The card tricks were hard to see, could only watch on the screen and still hard to tell what’s going on. Storyline was boring. I expected something much more impressive.
