About

Schoolboy Q on Tour

During Schoolboy Q's commanding live shows, his stories are told with a raspy shout that electrifies crowds from arenas to festivals. No stranger to the road, the Top Dawg Entertainment MC spent 2012 supporting A$AP Rocky on the LongLiveA$AP Tour, and toured alongside Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and Black Hippy crewmate Kendrick Lamar on the Under the Influence of Music Tour. In 2016, he spent the better part of three and a half months on his headlining Blank Face World Tour. In 2018, Schoolboy Q joined Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab Soul, SZA and more for the TDE victory lap The Championship Tour. Schoolboy Q has appeared at Coachella, Outside Lands, BET Experience Music Festival, Life Is Beautiful, Governors Ball, Camp Flog Gnaw, FunFunFun and HARD Summer, and he participated in Bonnaroo's first hip-hop Superjam.

Schoolboy Q in Concert

Schoolboy Q is one of contemporary hip-hop's most vivid storytellers, emerging from the Top Dawg Entertainment dynasty with a combination of East Coast–styled flows and his own unflinching L.A. realities. Growing up with a single mother in South Central Los Angeles, a teenage Quincy Matthew Hanley got involved in rhyming, football and the street life that informs much of his lyrics. Inspired by cinematic yarn-spinners like Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z and 50 Cent, Schoolboy Q fell into the TDE collective in 2006, working alongside future Black Hippy collective members Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock. In 2011, he released his debut album, Setbacks, followed by 2012's Habits & Contradictions and the platinum-certified, Grammy-nominated major label debut Oxymoron in 2014. One of hip-hop's most respected young voices, Schoolboy Q has rapped on tracks with Kanye West, Calvin Harris, Danny Brown, 50 Cent, Mac Miller and more, not to mention appearing on Top 40 singles like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "White Walls" and Tinashe's "2 On."
