Great acousticts. Very good Optic curve of orchestra

by As Good or Better than Carnegie Hall on 11/3/19Keller Auditorium - Portland

It is always full. Great acoustics. Very good Optic curve of the orchestra section. Lighting is well thought out and with many options. Designed very well. It is aging a little bit considering the popularity.

    Mediocre overall

by Khristia on 11/3/19Keller Auditorium - Portland

Madama Butterfly; waiters years for it to return. The overall production was high school level, set and design. The singing was beautiful and the story line, well we all know that it was written in the early 1900’s, so there was a definite reminder of how far we have progressed in the world and as woman. Keller Auditorium needs a bit of a facelift. The air conditioning was running the entire show and it was 40° outside! The vendors for food and drink were also mediocre. If you can believe it they actually had on their drink list Burnett’s vodka and gin. I think we all remember drinking this brand in college; it’s on the bottom shelf of every liquor store. Keller also charged $11 for a gin and tonic with that cheap brand. :-/. Also... Underwood wine? They are known. For the wine in a can! We’ve live in Pinot noir country! They couldn’t make a deal with a winery with a better wine selection? Also, pretzels and chips? At the theater/opera?! Why not bring in local premium coffee with scones and croissants. Little canapés or sandwiches?

    Excellent, Groovy, Great and Good

by Skip on 10/31/19Keller Auditorium - Portland

Portland Opera's production of Madam Butterfly was top notch. We will keep an eye on their schedule and attend more operas. (We had to drive 60 miles to see it, but it was worth every mile.)

Fine performance by all the principle players, especially Butterfly and the American cad. The child was perfect! We all shed a few tears. Thank you!

    Meh

by WayBack on 10/30/19Keller Auditorium - Portland

The Soprano was outstanding. The rest was meh. 10 minutes of watching our heroine sleep was meh. Music was technically competent but didn't move me. I have sat in the boxes and know it wasn't an accoustic issue. I had hoped for a better Butterfly experience.
