Rudest Security experience EVER!!

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

After this last game, I am not sure if we will ever purchase tickets again & we love the team & the stadium is great!! We have been to several & we have been to many, many other venues for concerts, sporting events, etc... I carry the same "clear" bag. It is 100% clear on one side & has a hibiscus flower on the other. I passed both security spots just fine & then a "supervisor" of security comes up & screams at me that I cannot come in, just as they were getting ready to scan my ticket. They already scanned my husband & son's, so I had to walk to my car, alone, to put my bag back in it, as I was not going to throw it away. When I returned, I went straight to guest services to file a complaint. He was in my face rude. I don't know his name, but he has a face anomaly (large wart). As I walked through the stadium there were sooooo many other bags that had much larger designs or not clear at all. I know size comes into play, but mine was within size & I had like 5 items in it, all of which you could SEE! I seriously ruined the entire experience for my family. My son said he has never seen me so angry, as I am a normally very calm, laidback person.

Denied Entry

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

This was my 2nd Orlando City Soccer game of the season. As we approached the gates our purses went through one inspection and passed. Once we got up to scan our tickets 2 of my friends got through security perfectly fine. Then, a supervisor happened to walk up right before I was going in and started approaching me with an angry tone about my clutch size. The clutch was the exact dimensions required but the cloth proofed out on the sides due to it being made out of leather. My friends turned around and walked over to me to see what the problem was. He then said their clutches also were too large and kicked them out. Once their tickets were scanned they could not go back in if they left. (Keep in mind we had all gone to the game the weekend before with the same purses and made it in JUST FINE). He demanded that we rent lockers for our purses for an additional $10.00 at a hole in the wall restaurant down the street where no one spoke English. We refused. This was the biggest waist of money and experience. I understand security measures but they need to be more consistent if one week we can come in and the other weekend we can’t with the same exact items. This was unfair and we were very disappointed. As a professional, last year, I rented out the scoreboard deck for over 30 clients and attended multiple games. I will never use OCS for future events after this experience!

Nice venue but the food choice is limited and expensive. They should take a look at fan first pricing at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Orlando City v NE Revolution

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

The Orlando City Stadium is very new and is a nice stadium. Before the game, the hard core fans get together at a brewpub two blocks north of the ground and about an hour before kick off the march to the ground singing songs, waving flags and lighting flares - it's well worth getting there to see this. I always get tickets in the fan zone, which is a standing area at one end of the ground where all the fans stand. The atmosphere is very lively with fans leading the singing/chanting and lots of flag waving. If Orlando City score, then purple flares are let off in front of the fans. The standing area is very safe with bars in front of every step and your own marked out standing area - you even have a cup holder! Parking is easy near the ground - just pay $10 and park in a secured area. However, be warned - the standard of MLS soccer, and Orlando City in particular, is pretty poor - you need the singing to take your mind off it!

One day they’ll get it right

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

I’ve been going to OCS games for years (since the citrus bowl days). I love having a new stadium, but every time I go (3-4 times a season) it’s like it’s their first day. They still have no idea what they’re doing at security, concessions, etc. it’s what stops me from getting season tickets.

Poor seats

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

The field was obstructed by a very poorly placed post so we could not see the field. We had to move.

Poor staff and expensive event but good fans

Orlando City Stadium - Orlando

Staff pointed out 15 out of 1000+ who threw items on the field. They get banned for a year (!) the bad thing is some of them were incorrect. Saw one guy in standing section dropped his scarf and asked if he could pick it up but then got pressed charge against, ridiculous! Some guy threw a napkin to the field and got pressed charge against! Throwing trash into the field is so wrong but staff handle it so bad and punishment doesn't match up at all to the "crime". Not to mention how expensive everything inside the stadium is! A beer $10?! Water bottle $10?! Ticket prices are the same as going on a Real Madrid game where regular season game is > 30 €! Whole thing is unprofessional to me but the fans in standing section should get a lot of credit for their constantly singing.

Information

Orlando City SC at Orlando City Stadium

As the MLS grew in 2010, Orlando was granted one of the league's expansion teams. The city set about building a brand-new soccer-specific stadium for the incoming team, Orlando City SC, which began play in 2015. Settle in for a night of rowdy soccer action, and cheer along with the Ruckus Orlando, the club's supporter section.

Orlando City SC History

Upon coming into the league in time for the 2015 season, Orlando City knew it needed to make a big splash, and it went out and did just that. Coming over for the inaugural season from AC Milan, Kaká was the first big signing of the Orlando era. The former Ballon d'Or winner was in the waning years of his career, but his talent and name recognition helped Orlando make its first season one to remember for its new fans.

As it turned out, Kaká wasn't really the star of the team's first year. That honor went to Canadian rookie Cyle Larin, who scored 17 goals in his debut campaign, a new record for MLS rookies. Larin won Rookie of the Year honors for the campaign, which saw Orlando barely miss the playoffs by just one point in the stacked Eastern Conference.

Though Orlando has not made the playoffs in its four years of existence, it has built a strong fan base in the Florida city, one that shows up each and every game for its Lions. Currently under the stewardship of head coach James O'Connor, Orlando will look to make team history and reserve a spot for itself in the MLS Cup Playoffs and possibly make a deep run for the title.
