Every band was at their best!

It's always a treat to see One-Eyed Doll, and the bands that are at the gig with them. I might be on the north side of 50, but I love being introduced to new bands, sounds, genres, and people. The band lineup, in order, was Progressive Chemistry, The Dood, Cunningham Wake, Open Your Eyes, One-Eyed Doll, and Eyes Set To Kill. Each band was really good, fit well together, and still had their own sound. Progressive Chemistry (these guys sounded great and were having a blast on stage), The Dood (I picked up on a Fight-era Halfordesque overtone that I loved from these dudes), and Cunningham Wake (hard edged, hard driving, flying dreadlocked musical insanity) are all Florida bands (I believe), which alway makes me happy to see. Open Your Eyes, from Chicago, does have a midwest industrial tinge, but there's other stuff going on with them, so check them out. OED is, of course, the reason I went to the show, and they were, as always, just awesome. Eyes Set To Kill was a real treat for me, especially as a bass player, as their bassist Anissa has both a unique driving metal sound and a unique bass for the stage. Definitely a band I will be checking onto thoroughly!
