    Love the story and music

by Steve on 3/30/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

I will start with the disclosure that this is the third time we have seen On your Feet. We absolutely love the show. This cast left us feeling just OK. The cast playing the roles of the Mother, Grandmother and Emilio are superb. The role of Gloria was just good. She had the energy but vocally she didn't sound like Gloria. That made you keep remembering that you were separated from the story. The original broadway cast Gloria was fantastic. Some of the dancers were not looking like dancers. Some were heavy set and some didn't move in precision as a group. One woman was as if she was not I to being there that night. But, besides the disappointments we would recommend the show. We just felt the traveling show was not at the same standard that the Broadway original achieved. Great music, great story. Bring your kleenex, you may cry!

    Like a mini concert

by SYannie on 3/29/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

My 2 daughters 11 and 17 didn't know anything about Gloria Estefan or her music. This show was a great way to introduce them to the music of my time and learn of her rise to fame. It was a fun, high energy, bright lights, body bopping show. Some scenes were like a mini concert - you get a taste of the songs but some songs you wish they would continue it in full. There was no dancing in the aisles by the cast as another reviewer had mentioned (maybe at a different venue?). The storyline was interesting - family played an important role in achieving her dreams. The actors / singers / dancers were excellent; the venue was large enough to host this show and not feel like a community theater but small enough that any seat would be a good seat. We've seen Jersey Boys which is a similar type of musical and we would see Jersey Boys again. On Your Feet was an awesome show too but once was fine for us, I think everyone should go see it at least once - you'll still be humming her tunes days and weeks later.

    Exciting show!

by MT on 3/28/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

What an exciting experience! A well rounded musical had a little bit of everything. When there was singing you wanted to "Get on Your Feet"!

    Good music - college quality

by Falls short on 3/27/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

Good music and play itself. The quality falls pretty short. Very small number of actors in the cast. Felt more like a high school or college musically. Didn’t rise to the quality one would think of for a Chicago off Broadway play. More like “South Syracuse Community College”.

    So good!

by Jennifer S. on 3/27/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

I loved the storyline, loved the dancing, loved the latin vibes. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves latin and tropical music and of course, Gloria Estefan!

    Fine performance, but….

by Rene on 3/27/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

I first saw On Your Feet several years ago when it was in its trial run. I loved it and could not wait to see it again. This performance, while good, was too glitzy. The set was distracting. The actor who played Gloria was superb, but some of the other characters, like her mom and grandma were like caricatures. There was no warmth like the version I first saw. Taking a show to Broadway does not always make it better.

    A Very Fun time!

by Cesi on 3/26/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

I truly enjoyed this musical! Not only did I learn about Gloria Estefan's life but I enjoyed all the music that was shared! If you love Gloria's music, you are going to love this musical!
