New York Jets History
Beginning play at the Polo Ground in 1960 as The Titans of New York, the franchise changed their name to the Jets in 1963 before adopting Shea Stadium as their home in 1964. In 1968, the Jets became the first AFL representative to defeat the NFL in the Super Bowl as the team beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, an improbable victory that was made possible in part by their quarterback, "Broadway" Joe Namath.
The Jets made a return to the playoffs in the ’80s, and in 1982 made an appearance in the AFC Championship game. Between 2001 and 2010, the Jets made the playoffs six times.

New York Jets at MetLife Stadium
The Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium, an open-air, multi-purpose stadium located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. MetLife is also home to the New York Giants, which makes it one of only two stadiums to be shared by two NFL teams.
MetLife Stadium opened in 2010 and upon its construction, which cost $1.6 billion, was the most expensive stadiums to be built in the U.S. MetLife Stadium has a capacity of 82,500 and has hosted such events as Super Bowl XLVII, Copa America Centenario Final, and the 2021 Army-Navy Game. MetLife will also be one of the sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The New York Jets’ schedule release video was uploaded on May 11, 2023, and features YouTuber Trevor Rainbolt guessing the locations of the Jets’ opponents with the GeoGuessr geography app. You can watch the clip here.
The New York Jets’ 2023 regular season kicks off in September at home as the Jets face off against AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills. The Jets play their final game of the regular season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, against divisional rivals the New England Patriots. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:
Tickets for the 2023 regular season can be purchased on Ticketmaster, the Official Ticket Marketplace of the New York Jets.

The Jets’ biggest rivals are the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo Bills.
The New York Jets have reached the Super Bowl championship once, beating the Colts 16-7 in Super Bowl III in 1969 — the first championship game for which the NFL officially coined the "Super Bowl" name.
The New York Jets were originally named the Titans of New York, but the franchise was sold in 1963 and renamed the Jets. They were renamed the Jets since the team would play near LaGuardia Airport, and because Jets rhymed with the New York Mets, with whom they’d share Shea Stadium.

Had a great time at Met Life stadium. The staff were very welcoming. The bathroom was clean. The food could’ve been more fresh but the snacks were great. Can’t wait to go to the next football game.Go Bucs!
great places, very good food, good organization, highly recommended
Fantastic modern stadium. Great layout. Easy to access. There were many, many pregame activities. Massive stadium and plenty of vendors with a wide array of foods to choose from. Architecture is great. One star off for the absolutely tiny and uncomfortable seats. Everything else was great.
First NFL game I went to…I was so happy…hopefully next year I’ll go again…the section 139..row 18 seat 14 is pretty much the seat I would like to sit again when buying a ticket again.
On the MetLife club side they added some sort of outdoor seating taking away 10 yards of outdoor standing room. This overcrowds the area and takes away from the experience completely
Had a great time!!! Its very easy to get to the Mets by train. Game was very exciting, had some good snacks and beer.
Great,.............,................awesome..........
Took my dad to the game. We haven’t been so long and he loved it. Awesome seats and pretty good social distancing.
Amazing seats. Great to be at a birds eye level which you can see the plays unfold.
Seats where high up went the stadium was half empty should be able to get better seats.
Quite enjoyed my time at Metlife safe for the nasty surprise of all sales of alcohol stopping at the beginning of 3rd quarter. Would have appreciated a heads up or at least a bit of liniency (I was in line at the time). The rule feels arbitrary and applied without logic or flexibility. Might have something to do with the stadium being empty by the 4th quarter.
Bought seats on the front row on the 20 yard line. It was a great experience for seeing a football game in person for the first time EVER! My only concern was the masks, there were no masks in sight on anyone around us. Could be that NJ doesn't have the same restrictions as NYC (where we're from) but it was a bit unsettling that it wasn't enforced with so many people crammed into such tight space and no distancing. With the exception of mask worries, we had an awesome time and would definitely do it again.
MY HUSAND AND SON HAD A GRT TIME MY SON WAS VERY HAPPY HIS TEAM WON.... MY HUSBAND NOT SO MUCH HIS TEAM LOST REALITY HE SHULD BE USED TO IT. TILL NEXT YEAR.....
It was our first game and both our favorite teams and it was a nice close score whole time!! It was nice out and nice music in between plays and I learned more about football in general gratefully after all these years watching them on tv!! It was nice having middle level seats and nice people around us thankfully and we got a beer and some lunch on halftime!! Got some nice pics for memories!!
Ticketmaster easy to use. Good communication and updates keep you informed about the event.
Had a great time until other people started to come down and take vacant seats. I feel that the usher should have been checking tickets as people were coming down from the upper seats
My Father & I had a blast in your arena. I’m really diggin’ the MetLife 50 Club right below our section. I’m definitely gonna swing by again next season @ that same section(139) again. Keep up the good work! It was a very memorable visit that we had that day(11/14/21). Bills Mafia represented with full pride during our visit. Thanks!
Sat in 3rd level. Escalators all the way up. Good pedestrian traffic pattern in parking lot. Nice variety of concessions. Late arriving crowd.
it took 3 hours to get back to manhattan from the game. New Jersey Transit buses never came, we waited over 2 hours for them and they never showed up. we tried calling ubers and lyfts and they would cancel on us. eventually got a taxi. ive have been to hundreds of concerts and sporting events and this was the worst ive ever been to in terms of leaving if you didnt have a vehicle
