New York Jets History
Beginning play at the Polo Ground in 1960 as The Titans of New York, the franchise changed their name to the Jets in 1963 before adopting Shea Stadium as their home in 1964. In 1968, the Jets became the first AFL representative to defeat the NFL in the Super Bowl as the team beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, an improbable victory that was made possible in part by their quarterback, "Broadway" Joe Namath.
The Jets made a return to the playoffs in the ’80s, and in 1982 made an appearance in the AFC Championship game. Between 2001 and 2010, the Jets made the playoffs six times.

New York Jets at MetLife Stadium
The Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium, an open-air, multi-purpose stadium located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. MetLife is also home to the New York Giants, which makes it one of only two stadiums to be shared by two NFL teams.
MetLife Stadium opened in 2010 and upon its construction, which cost $1.6 billion, was the most expensive stadiums to be built in the U.S. MetLife Stadium has a capacity of 82,500 and has hosted such events as Super Bowl XLVII, Copa America Centenario Final, and the 2021 Army-Navy Game. MetLife will also be one of the sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The New York Jets’ schedule release video was uploaded on May 11, 2023, and features YouTuber Trevor Rainbolt guessing the locations of the Jets’ opponents with the GeoGuessr geography app. You can watch the clip here.
The New York Jets’ 2023 regular season kicks off in September at home as the Jets face off against AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills. The Jets play their final game of the regular season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, against divisional rivals the New England Patriots. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:
Tickets for the 2023 regular season can be purchased on Ticketmaster, the Official Ticket Marketplace of the New York Jets.

The Jets’ biggest rivals are the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo Bills.
The New York Jets have reached the Super Bowl championship once, beating the Colts 16-7 in Super Bowl III in 1969 — the first championship game for which the NFL officially coined the "Super Bowl" name.
The New York Jets were originally named the Titans of New York, but the franchise was sold in 1963 and renamed the Jets. They were renamed the Jets since the team would play near LaGuardia Airport, and because Jets rhymed with the New York Mets, with whom they’d share Shea Stadium.
Really great game. The Pats win. Nice ambiance after all. People a bit less drunk and it will be perfect.
Parking was easy. Tailgate was enjoyable. No issue with tickets or getting into game.
It was a beautiful day for a football game and the seats were superb. I didn't even know the Coach's Club was included until we got there. We all agreed that this was the only way to see a game. Well done.
I was a little worried going to New York for an away game. But 99% of the fans were respectful and fun to engage with. Stadium is set up great for tailgating, even for those that take the bus or train to the stadium. Outdoor beer garden with $5 beers and live music. It was a million times better experience than being a visitor in Seattle!
Took like 40 mins to get into the stadium. Leaving was a bit of a hassle too, pretty un organized getting into the trains.
everything worked perfectly and easily with Ticketmaster. Nice instructions, easy handling also
Gd time employees great met life clean as we know food and all drinks way to expensive
Great weather, great food, great friends, great fans and great game. The only problem was saving my tickets from Ticketmaster to my Wallet at the stadium. A word of advice, do it before you get to the parking lot. Too many cyber electronics in use in the parking lot. To say the internet was slow would be a compliment. Most requests timed out before information could be uploaded or downloaded. Would definitely use Ticmaster again.
Amazing tailgate ambiance from both teams, stadium is well located, lots of parking and easy access. Everything was perfect for me, can't wait to visit all the stadiums in the league, specially Arrowhead !!
The stadium, the atmosphere, the game overall was nothing short of amazing. Go Jets
A Great day with a nice Game! Everthing was Fine on this day!
The day was tremendous. Managed to sneak into the vip area as well
Great crowd cheering on the JETS at MetLife, Sunday September 25th. The JETS unfortunately did not show up, and played terrible. It was Nick Mangold's Ring of Honor ceremony. Great crowd, with not a huge amount of Bengals fans in attendance. WE miss the JETS Flightcrew Cheerleaders. Not sure why the JETS decided to do away with this program, but at times the energy falls flat, and they are missed!!
Traffic control, and the ability to order an Uber, was the worst I have ever seen.
Between the insane traffic getting into the parking lot at MetLife and the disgraceful performance of the Jets I/we have no intentions of seeing another game
Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, overall fantastic!
Poor on field performance. Super hard to get to - nowhere near enough regular trains. Not enough covered seating (it rained) and the concessions are terribly average. Also no stadium sized beers, but still charge stadium prices. At least the place isn’t falling apart.
The online purchase tkts,😁 had great seats everything 5was great...
Great Atmosphere during the 2022 Jets v Giants game. Great fans, great half time and overall a very fun experience.
Everything from buying the tickets to entering the stadium was easy. This was me and my families first time going to a football game. It was beyond our expectations. We had a great time. I can’t wait to attend another game.
