New York Giants History
A cornerstone franchise of the National Football League, the New York Giants began play in 1925. Legally, the Giants are named “The New York Football Giants,” which distinguished them from the “New York Giants” baseball team that called New York their home until 1975, before moving to San Francisco.
As one of the most awarded franchises in history, the Giants have won eight league championships — including a victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, their second in five seasons. The Giants (also known as the G-Men, the Jints and the Big Blue Wrecking Crew) are the only franchise in the NFL with a Super Bowl victory in each of the last four decades.

New York Giants at MetLife Stadium
The Giants are an institution with a storied history, and loyal fans can remember games at Yankees Stadium in the Bronx, Shea Stadium in Queens, the Yale Bowl, and Giants Stadium. MetLife Stadium, which became the Giants’ home stadium starting in 2010, is housed at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and is also home to the New York Jets, making it one of only two stadiums shared by two NFL teams.
The stadium cost approximately $1.6 billion to construct, which at the time made it the most expensive stadiums to be built in the U.S. With a capacity of 82,500, MetLife Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL. The stadium has hosted such major sporting events as the first outdoor, cold-weather Super Bowl XLVIII, Copa America Centenario Final, and the 2021 Army-Navy Game. It will also serve as a site for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The New York Giants’ schedule release video was uploaded on May 11, 2023, and features Giants players announcing the schedule via an escape room. You can watch the clip here.
The New York Giants’ 2023 regular season kicks off in September at home as the Giants face off against NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants play their final game of the regular season at home against divisional rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

The Giants’ biggest rivals are the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Giants have reached the Super Bowl five times (1987, 1991, 2001, 2008, and 2012), winning all games except for one — Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 where they lost 34-7 to the Baltimore Ravens.
The game was fantastic we had seats on the 300 level. A bit high next time I know to get tickets on the 200 level.
As a Dallas fan I was happy with the end result. We do wish the giants had put forward a better effort however. Metlife is one of our favorite stadiums.
I watched the Giants lose 40-0 while sitting in the pouring rain inside a generic and boring stadium in the middle of a swamp. Needless to say I did not have a good time and it was a complete waste of money. If the stadium actually had a personality and there were things to do in the area before the game, maybe it wouldn’t have been as dreadful.
My total experience from purchasing tickets, purchasing Parking Passes, to finding & reserving hotel accommodations, and traveling to MetLife Stadium for the actual game, as well as leaving Stadium facilities, as well as the very reasonable costs for food, beverages, and purchasing Rear NY Giants Gear was outstanding! 💯🫡😎 P.S. 5 star rating!!!
Took 30 minutes to purchase tickets. Kept declining my credit cards incorrectly. By the time I was able to purchase we missed the first 5 minutes of the game!!!!!!!!
Had a great experience obtaining tickets to recent NY Giant football game The process was easy to accomplish and tickets were delivered to my Apple wallet Game was even better since Giants won and made the playoffs
I attended the Giants vs Eagles game and the overall experience was awesome considering I have never attended a live pro football game before. But about midway through the game a couple approached us in our seats and claimed we were sitting in their seats and rattled off the row we were in along with showing a picture of they're "tickets". We moved down two seats so they could sit there and we spent the next 30 minutes worrying about being in someone else's seats. Being it was our first attendance at a game we thought maybe we were in the wrong seats. Looking back on it I feel there may have been fowl play on their part. Don't know... But it turned out decent in the end.
The entry lines were so horrendous, I missed the first quarter. People wouldn’t move out of my seats, couldn’t find an agent or an employee. I’ll ever go to MetLife again
The game, atmosphere, people the experience my first ever pro football game with my Dad was the greatest and it was his first pro football game too
We came from germany and this was our first football game ever. All people/ stuff had been so nice and helpful. The atmosphere was amazing. The game was brilliant. I will never forget this adventure!!!!
$500 day to take my nephew to a game to watch them lose. Also no cash at the stadium. Beer is almost $20. Better off watching on couch!
Great time and great seats. Can’t wait for the next game.
Went to the game against two teams I don’t care for, Giants and Bears. The stadium was mid. Not terrible but not great. I won’t be going to people and being like OMG you need to see MetLife. It’s mid but fine for two mid teams in the New Jersey Jets and Giants
From being in GIANTS stadium to METLIFE. All the feel of home was brought to this hollow ground. To all who have been and to those still to come. Welcome home.
Great staff. Wonderful set up. Able to get to my seat with ease. Everyone was so helpful and cordial
Please send me giants I had a great time yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Great day out, entertainment on and off the pitch. Great experience Ticketmaster experience was awful. No help to resolve issues despite numerous tries. The bus by to nyc was poorly organised, each individual ticket was checked, one a t a time, one bud at a time, long queues despite ample buses available
This was the first game I saw live! The atmosphere was great! The energy was next level! Can't wait to attend a real game!!
Big game big fun we used the accessible seats, service was great!
We had a great time. Fantastic way to kick of the season. Let’s go Big Blue!
