Fine revival of My Fair Lady

by Yalie1957 on 1/29/14Shubert Theater - New Haven

This was a new and exciting version of My Fair Lady, performed "in concert" with the orchestra on stage. Yale Drama students, both alumni and current undergrads, did a great job in this revival of the musical that first opened in New Haven in the mid-1950s. Congrats to all involved in the production!

My Fair Lady was a Stunning Performance

by Breeze2 on 1/28/14Shubert Theater - New Haven

When I purchased the tickets for this performance I hadn't read the fine print and thought we would be seeing a staged musical similar to a Broadway production. We went to see it almost half-heartedly thinking it would be a musical review by just a few singers. Boy was I wrong! The large cast of singers were fantastic and the orchestra was great. The radio concept with the narrator and sound effects was very appealing. I am waiting with bated breath for their next performance.

    Truly amazing performance

by Pattonreed888 on 3/7/12Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I saw this on the stage in London 30 years ago, and this performance was comparable. Seeing this quality of performance in Huntsville is something I did not expect. Everyone should take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy these productions.

    My Fair Lady

by Anonymous on 3/6/12Heymann Performing Arts Center - Lafayette

The play was well done, sets were beautiful, and I could actually hear all of the lines. We had great seats in the Heymann Center in Lafayette, LA. I brought my neice with me, who was attending a play for the first time. It was a great experience for her and she fell in love with plays and the story of My Fair Lady. My only complaint was that the play was about 20 minutes too long. It lasted over 3 hours, which is longer than the movie. We enjoyed the play and the experience.

    My Fair Lady

by BertM on 3/5/12Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

Good show, but performers were second stringers. We dropped our season tickets for same reason. I know VBCC probably doesn't have much say soor the budget doesn't allow, but it would be a great boost if a couple big name Broadway people could be lined up occasionally. But hey, we enjoyed it, keep up the good work

    My Fair Lady was superb

by Thisreviewisajoke on 3/5/12Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

Only one aspect of the evening was unpleasant.. Though theushers wer polite, they informed us that we could not have a playbill, because there was not enough to go around. This seemed a bit odd considering the amount we spent on tickets. Even this idiocy could not diminish the wonderful aspects of the play, but someone should take care of the issue, even if you have to charge an additional dollar or two for the tickets. in the future..

    My Fair Lady - Awesome!

by johndmcglynn on 3/5/12Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

Absolutely amazing performance! Aurora - in her debut performance as Eliza Doolittle - turned in the best performance since Julie Andrews. At the finale of "I Could Have Danced All Night" I waited, cringing, expecting a crack on the final sustained high note; nope - she nailed it perfectly. And Freddie was also spot-on throughout "On the Street Where You Live". The kick-line chorus in "Get Me to The Church On Time" was also absolutely incredible - I've seldom enjoyed a performance more.

    My Fair Lady B+

by boatenj on 3/5/12Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Slightly lengthy but captured all the memorable moments from the movie. The singing was especially well done.
