Mazzy Star Tickets

One for the ages. I’ve seen MS a few times over the years and this was the most beautiful by far. RIP David Robuck.

I didn’t know what to expect as this was my first Mazzy Star show, and it was in a church. That said, it was a great experience and exactly what I expected in retrospect. The church was beautiful and the audience was a great sport given that there were no photos allowed. That was my only very mild critique as a $70 ticket should warrant a picture as long as you’re not being disruptive. The show was shrouded in darkness but it made the event intimate and added to the vibe of the performance. It was about the music, and it came through in the acoustics of the church and the quiet respect of the audience. Beautiful performance.

The venue was great, the band sounded great, Hope sounded great but the stage was completely dark. The ENTIRE concert!

Mazzy Star is my all time favorite band. This was my ideal concert: sitting in a dark yet beautifully lit church, listening to their music and Hope’s dreamy voice. The beauty of the church made the moody music more fitting and I felt right at home. The beautiful art installation that played on the screen behind the band was so psychedelic and imaginative. I took a micro dose of acid and had the most beautiful experience in my entire life i’m so grateful to have been able to see Mazzy Star twice now and i’m only 19. Their music helped me get through the hardest years of my life. Thank you thank you thank you!

Hope and the band sounded awsome. HOWEVER it would have been nice to SEE them. C’mon, the ENTIRE show in the darkness of shadows?? The mood was how it would have been if I were listening in my room back in the 90s with my lava lamp and tripping out on my Mazzy star CD.I could’ve done that anytime now —isn’t that why you go to concerts, to actually See the musician live? I read that Hope is extremely shy but—really?? not even a small living room dim lamp for a glimpse of the artists/musicians? Bizzare.Truly I could have stayed home and turned off the lights And listen to an old disc of Mazzy star in the dark in the comfort of my own home

Immanuel Presbyterian is one of the most unique venues in Los Angeles. Every show I have seen in the cathedral has been incredible: acoustics, ambiance, lighting and not one bad seat in the house. However, the Mazzy Star performance was a complete waste of time/money. Had we known that the entire set would take place in total darkness, with what appeared to be film school stills circa 1993 projected on a giant screen, this event would have been a hard pass for us. Although Hope Sandoval's vocals are still stellar and the band sounded good, it was almost impossible to keep our eyes open. I've never witnessed so many people leaving a show mid set, or concert goers just giving up and heading to the church steps to smoke with a $12 cocktail in hand. For MS fans(especially those of us who saw MS live in the 90s) considering a future ticket purchase, I would suggest just listening to your vinyl in the comfort of your own home for free.

Beautiful reverent atmosphere for a truly sonic experience...

Impeccable , beautiful, entrancing, rapturous, magical

Generally excellent. I had never heard of Gold Star before and now I'm a fan. They sounded excellent. I'm a fan of Mazzy Star already but was a little disappointed by the sound. It's usually excellent at The Fox, but the mic was really off - the vocals were mixed way too low. The guitars, especially the pedal steel were sore high that they drowned Hope Sandoval almost completely at times.
