Indie quartet Lower Dens conjure up a dreamy, psychedelic atmosphere every time they step on stage. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Jana Hunter has been making music since 2002 both as a solo artist and with groups like Matty and Mossy, Castanets, and Jracula. As her lyrics grew increasingly personal, she decided to form a band in 2010 to achieve a less insular vision that was better suited to live performances. The end result was so captivating that Hunter decided to keep the group together as Lower Dens. The group found critical respect and audience appreciation in 2010 with their first release Twin-Hand Movement. Hunter began writing music on a keyboard for convenience while on the road, and the new approach greatly influenced the Krautrock-inspired sound of their 2012 sophomore album Nootropics. After opening for the likes of Yo La Tango and Beach House the group returned to the studio, releasing Escape From Evil in 2015 to glowing reviews.
