As an eight-time Grammy Award nominee, Ledisi has captured attention around the world, thanks to her expressive jazz-influenced voice and well-produced albums that boldly tackle personal subject matter. When on tour, Ledisi often collaborates with a large backup band, which creates a full, multi-layered sound that's a treat for the ears of every ticket holder in attendance. Her sixth studio album, Pieces of Me, was released in 2011, and her next effort, The Truth, is set to hit the shelves in early 2014. The album's first single, "I Blame You," is already available to stream via the Internet for free, and a series of concert dates seems likely to follow the album's release.
Involved in music her whole life, Ledisi has appeared on soundtracks and commercials and performed at the White House at the request of President Obama and the First Lady. The year 2007 marked the release of Ledisi's third studio album, Lost and Found, and it was noted for earning her two Grammy nominations, including a nod for Best New Artist. In 2011, she toured around North America in support of Pieces of Me and played to sold-out crowds in more than 20 cities. The years 2012 and 2013 also saw Ledisi being recognized by her peers by receiving additional Grammy nominations. In addition to nurturing her music career, Ledisi has written a biographical book in partnership with ESSENCE magazine and appeared in two films. Through those efforts, she's proven that she has what it takes to excel, whether by showcasing her skills in music or by courageously experimenting with other creative outlets.
Best concert I have seen in long time. Can't wait to see them again.
The venue was well organized and they started on time. Everyone came out ready to party. The musicians and background singers were on fire. Ledisi sang right out of her shoes and earrings. I loved the show.
If Ledesi is performing in your city…Go! Amazing vocals and backup. Great opener and nice Kerch!
I truly enjoyed Ledisi and Raheem DeVaughn!! They put on a great show. They song all the songs I wanted to hear plus some!
AMAZING..!! We don't have many singers like Ledisi around anymore..had a M&G..she was so kool.. laughed at took pics..The show was over and beyond..with a special guest Kenny Lattimore popped out.. if she's in your town..GO..!! Don't 2nd guess..!
The concert was a musical journey. Every song sung transcended me to a point in time when life was sweet and joy filled my heart. I would pay to see Ledisi perform a thousand times over.
Ledisi is stellar! What a talent! We loved the show!
I really enjoyed the concert. It was my first time at the You Tube Theater.
The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA., is a beautiful venue. The vibe was great. But the people running the sound need to be called out for the overall volume being louder than was necessary, and even worse, for having the kick drum so hot in the mix that we often couldn't hear chord changes, background singers or keyboards. That was a huge disappointment. We went to hear Ledisi, not the kick drum.
Ledisi never disappoints. She is an awesome performer and knows how to interact with the audience. She sang 20 dongs and was on pitch as usual. We drive from Sacramento to see her. We’ve only missed her once since she’s been performing. Opening act Raheem DeVaughn was very good as well. Great show!!
