Kansas City Chiefs History
The Kansas City Chiefs were founded as the Dallas Texans in 1959 by businessman, sports pioneer and American Football League founder Lamar Hunt. The team moved to Kansas City before the 1963 season and were renamed the Chiefs. The team found success early on, winning three AFL championships in the 1960s to become the team with the most championships in the AFL. In 1970, the club joined the NFL when it merged with the AFL. That year, the team won its first AFL-NFL championship in Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings, beating them 23-7.
The Chiefs have had 25 individuals inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and have produced five Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award winners — tied with the Chicago Bears for the most of any team.
Head Coach Andy Reid joined the team in 2013, and under his leadership, the Chiefs have made the playoffs consistently. The club won the AFC West from 2016 to 2022 and clinched championship titles at Super Bowl LIV in 2020 and Super Bowl LVII in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium
Opened in 1972, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium has a capacity of 76,416. As one of the first stadiums developed after the AFL merged with the NFL, Arrowhead was a leader in stadium design. It introduced the use of arrows on the yard markers at the goal line (eventually becoming a requirement in the NFL), and was the first to be a part of the two-stadium Truman Sports Complex.
GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is also known to be one of the loudest stadiums in the league. In 2014, fans set a Guinness World Record for stadium noise, registering a sound of 142.2 decibels during a game against the New England Patriots.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Tennessee Titans, and KC wins in overtime. Arrowhead stadium is mecca for a chief's fan such as I. The only downside? The parking is a bit of a nightmare.
This was my first NFL game, my Titans vs husband’s Chiefs. The ticketing, parking, security check, and entry were absolutely seamless, no issues whatsoever. There was a bazillion port-o-potties in the parking lot (I did not use) but the restrooms I used inside the stadium were plentiful and clean. Our seats were in section 318, it’s a very long climb up stairs!! We got a hot dog and soda, the hot dog could have been hotter but it was good!! The only negative experience was the people that wish to stand up to watch… My husband said something to the people in front of us and they in turn said something to the people in front of them and the problem was solved!! Getting out after the game was crowded but easy to navigate. The traffic flowed, slowly but kept moving. Great job by everyone!!!
The stadium was really loud with all of the fans making noise. The seats were very comfortable. The food and beverage choices were very good and not that expensive. I bought some souvenirs at one of the Chiefs stores. Those prices were reasonable also. Parking was fairly easy. Getting out of the parking lot after the game had finished was time consuming but was expected. You always have to wait. We had a very nice time and plan to attend another Chiefs game in the future.
Was overall an enjoyable experience great game great atmosphere the stadium was awesome. Major disappointment when I heard they did not have any Jack Daniels in the entire stadium because it is a crown Royal sponsored venue. Will not return thank you
The seats were great!!! Atmosphere was amazing never been apart of anything like it. Everyone staff and fans were so nice! Can’t wait to Go back!!!! Go CHIEFS!!!!
I'm just gonna say this. God Blessed me with a chance to see the Greatest Team Ever The Kansas City Chiefs!!! I so humble that I got chance to actually see Arrowhead Stadium in person and watch Travis Kelce catch 4TD's in one game! Thank you Ticketmaster for the seats. Everything was just a Awesome and memorable experience!
We had an amazing time. Parking was smooth and the game was great. Can’t wait til next time!!
Arrowhead stadium was another awesome experience! Of course the Chiefs game was great and they won. Staff at the stadium was as nice as they come from buying a beer from several different people to buying peanuts. It's such a pleasure going to Chiefs games because the atmosphere, the tailgating, the people from all walks of life and everybody getting along whether your for the home team or not. Thank you Kansas City Chiefs and GEHA Arrowhead Stadium
Very exciting game; great weather. Always more fun to be there in person!
Went to MNF game at Arrowhead Stadium against the Raiders. Overall an awesome experience even though we have been there before. Did some tailgating and enjoyed time with friends and other fans in the parking lot. It’s definitely an experience everyone should try at least 1 time. “GO CHIEF‘S”
This was the most exciting thing I have ever been too! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Parking was terrible. No one was directing traffic. I have been to several stadiums throughout the nfl. Took me two hours to get out of the parking lot. I really can’t see myself going back to this particular stadium. I would never recommend this venue.
Staff was great! Fans were nice as were the opposing team. I thought the announcer play by play could have been better.
It would be great if my wife could have transferred the on field experience ticket to me I had to use her name going in. Other that than it was all good.
I couldn't go, so I tried to sell my tickets and no one bought them so I lost out on $250.00 very upset and bummed out!!
Easy parking, great seats well worth the money to see the Packers vs Chiefs
The staff was amazingly helpful and provided excellent customer service! We enjoyed our trip down!
Stadium was clean and game was well organized. We felt safe tailgating and during the game. Wish the starters had played a little longer, and/or the second string had been introduced. More fun to watch when you are invested. Thanks!
As always, Arrowhead is a great experience...I had two Cowboys fans as part of my party (13 of us) and they left with a bag of Chiefs' swag and allowed they were converts - and that's for a pre-season game! One issue: I was driving a 15 pax van and thus purchased an 'oversize' parking pass ($94!!) but when I got to the Red lot and asked where the 'oversize' parking was located, none of the attendants had a clue (and I asked about six of them). One young man (west of G25) had the right answer - I showed him the pass and he said, "Take two spaces." So I did...great for preseason tailgating, but I don't think that'll work during the regular season. Suggest that get fixed, soon...
