Jimmy Buffett on Tour

Jimmy Buffett is the tropical musician, songwriter and author known for "Margaritaville." Core groups of devoted fans known as Parrotheads follow him religiously. Jimmy's live concerts are soul-satisfying events, with many performed for charity. Jimmy, along with Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, played a benefit concert for hurricane victims in Florida on November 19, 2017. Jimmy Buffett's biggest hits are "Margaritaville," "Changes in Latitude" and "Come Monday." Aside from his music, he is the author of three New York Times bestselling novels and a serial businessman with a large chain of restaurants, as well as minor league baseball teams, hotels and casinos, and officially licensed products of many types. In 2003, he won an award from the Academy of Country Music for his duet with Alan Jackson on "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere." Of his more than 30 albums released, eight are Gold and nine are Platinum or Multi-Platinum albums.

Jimmy Buffett in Concert

Jimmy Buffett Background Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi and raised in Mobile, Alabama, getting involved in the band at a young age and picking up the guitar during college. Influenced by his grandfather, who was a sailor, and by country music while working for Billboard Magazine in Nashville, Jimmy tried to break into music in Nashville, but his sound did not mesh with the brand of country music popular in the 1970s. Jimmy then went to Key West and found his calling: good-time island music sometimes called "gulf and western." Jimmy honed his easygoing beach bum persona playing for drinks at the Chart Room Bar in Key West's Pier House Motel. When Jim Croce died unexpectedly in 1973, ABC/Dunhill Records called Jimmy to fill the void. He released albums regularly: 1973's A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean; two in 1974, Living & Dying in 3/4 Time and A1A; followed by Havana Daydreamin' in 1976. His breakout album was 1977's Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, which included the hit song "Margaritaville." Today, Jimmy is a major influence in both music and philanthropy. He often performs high-value benefit concerts for victims of natural disasters. Music was awesome, Venue/fans were not

by Cindy on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffett was great! However, the venue was terrible. I sat as close to the stage as I could get while still being in the stands but was distracted the entire concert by security trying to manage the people on the floor going up and down the stairs. The fans were all incredibly drunk and arguing with security. It made it difficult to enjoy anything. They kept repeating things like “I paid a lot for these tickets” like everyone else didn’t? Security should have a way to manage this without being right next to the seats. Angry drunk patrons were literally falling into us while security was arguing about who could and couldn’t go up the stairs. Also, the venue bathrooms were gross. Instead of keeping up with the toilet paper the staff left the toilet paper rolls on the floor in the middle of the stalls so they all had hair and wet stuff on them. It was a gross, unsanitary, unsafe situation all around. If this is what a Jimmy Buffett concert is like I won’t be attending again. And I certainly will not be going back to Snapdragon for a show!

    Off to see the Lizard

by Muffy on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

What a great night. Arriving at the new Snapdragon Stadium was pleasantly surprising. The staff right away was courteous and helpful. The layout is very easy to get around in. The sound was incredible for all 3 performers. Thank you for having the video screens because my seat had obstructed views from the cameras. I will defiantly attend more concerts here because the Trolly makes it easy to get in and out of the venue. Thank you San Diego!!!!

    Awesome!

by Jerry B on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy was great and looking like he could go on tour everyday! Set list was traditional including many of our favorites. The venue was new and clean but a little pricey. No way was the parking worth $50. Or two canned drinks (Cutwater) and a popcorn for $45.00. I mean it's a Jimmy Buffett concert so dynamic pricing should prevail. Really had a great time!

Concert was great but the venue needs work.

by Rob N. on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffet concerts are, in part, visual. The stage is configured in such a way that over 1/2 of the crowd was unable to see the visual effects projected on the back wall. This can be easily configured by "fanning out" the sides and put the monitors and the far ends of the fanned out stage. Until that is done, I will not return to this venue.

    Not What I Expected

    by L. W. on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffett has never had opening acts. I was very surprised that he had two opening acts. The second opener played longer that Jimmy did. This venue is terrible for concerts. It's set up for football, not set up for concerts. I will not be going back.

    Bucket List!

by Debbie on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffett’s concert at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego was unbelievable. He puts on a great show. It started off with Mac McAnally. Awesome! Then Jason Mraz who was outstanding. Then Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers. I didn’t want the concert to end. I was in the 8 th row. Worth every penny.

Jimmy was great but the preshow was too long!

by kadydid41 on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

The show was to start at 7 pm but Jimmy had a fellow bandmember play for 30 minutes which was great, but then Jason Mraz played for an hour and it was way too long and the music did not seem to fit this crowd! I heard people yelling for Jason to stop playing which was not cool, even though I secretly agreed with them but would never do that to someone on stage. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for the band to break down from Jason and get re-set for Jimmy. Hence, Jimmy didn't take the stage until 9 pm so momentum was lost. We pay to see Jimmy, not Jason Mraz. Jimmy was fantastic as usual!

Jimmy, Mac and the Reefers were great! Full selection of songs. Venue is beautiful but still have logistics to work out there.

Jimmy was great. I just didn’t having to wait two hours for

by Concert-goer on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

I RESENTED having to pay $50. to park. WhenI went on lo One beforehand they said the prepaid parking was sold out. At the entrance gate they said my bag was too big (just slightly larger than their diagram) and I had to take it back to my car. There was nowhere to check it. Upon leaving the concert I passed a trailer for checking you things. The gate people obviously didn’t know about it. In the stadium there were LONG lines at the bars - Insufficient supply. I hated the stadium experience and will avoid it in the future.

Jimmy Buffett was the best thing ever in 2023!

    by M. M. on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffett was awesome! He played all his old favorites! Everyone was singing and wore incredibly creative outfits! I loved it so much. The stadium was freezing so heaters next time but jumping around sort of warmed us up! The crowd was very diverse - old & young! Surprising the young ones there knew all the words to Jimmy's songs! From the 70's! Jimmy Buffett's music touches all generations because it reminds us there is life after work! We love Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer band members and the two women dancing and singing. Jason Mraz was a good opening act! Mac McInally is always a good start! Jimmy Buffett got me out of Honolulu to enter the cold and it was well worth the trip!!

by Rick and Jan on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

We had a fabulous time! Jimmy Buffett put on an amazing show. The stadium was a perfect venue for him. The food was excellent. Security and the stadium staff were very visible and helpful. The seating was very comfortable and well spaced. We found public transportation back to our hotel without a problem. Overall a perfect night!

    Beginning to End...a great time

by Lisa B on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Great venue. Well organized. Tons of easy options for parking or tramming. Fun vendors for cocktails as well as craft beer booths. We had tacos, they were good, although a little pricey...but that is to be expected. Sound was great. We were in section 103, row 4. Great seats, however, my only complaint is the people accessing floor seats are a constant flow. Jason Mraz was an obstructed view almost the entire time. Will be thrilled to attend another concert at Snapdragon...but will buy seats a little further from the aisle.

    wonderful night

by Alan Grant on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Being a fan of Jimmy Buffett for MANY years this was a night I have been looking forward to for a long time. It delivered!!! Easy access to the venue, good food and drink options. Wonderful sound system and easy access to our seats on the stadium floor. Great pacing to the entire show. Snapdragon stadium is a great place to see live entertainment if this is the standard.

    Watered down buffet experience

by Longhair on 5/9/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

You charge me $240 for motorhome parking, don’t open the parking until 2pm, park me on a dirt lot and don’t provide enough bathrooms, not really the parrot head tailgating experience I would have liked, people were great concert was good. Rushed me in rushed me out and took my money.
